Gorhams Bluff - Indoor lodging in Pisgah - 101 Gorham Dr, USA

FULL DISCLOSURE: I didn’t stay here. I have lived in Alabama all my life and have always been curious about this property since its inception. So while in the area, I visited. I’m sorry to say I was really disappointed in it. Just getting there is difficult. The neighboring properties on the road to get there are junky and run down mobile homes. I expected pristine immaculate kept roads and grounds, however the roads were in desperate need of a top coat and the sidewalks needed attention. When I got to the main lodge I was shocked at the state it was in. If I had booked a weekend and paid what they are asking and pulled in to see paint peeling and shutters falling apart I would’ve demanded a refund. I just don’t like the misrepresentation. Gothams Bluff could be a gem… and probably was back in the day… like I said… I didn’t STAY at the property. This is just from me passing through. I hope someone will come in and spend some money to make it shine again… sad.

When we drove into the Gorham Bluff Resort, we thought we were in Paradise. The staff was incredible, devoted to making us feel special. Our room, like all others, had a balcony with a table and chairs so we could sit and drink our coffee and take in the views. Our room was so romantic, the staff actually had the fireplace going for us when we arrived. The pillows, mattresses and even the robes were sumptuous. In the hall coffee and tea were available for guests, a mini kitchen for guest was on the first floor filled with cokes water, chilled candy bars, etc for us. There is a beautiful new pool area, a vintage post office converted to a library for guest to use and a hiking trail along the bluff! Photo shoots are numerous. A Pavilion overlooks the cliffs, perfect for a renewal of your vows. Some building improvements were going on but I have to say we didn’t notice - it was so quite and peaceful.

Location is beautiful, but looks like most of the place is up for sale. Main house locked to tight, no lights on, and looks in need of outside repairs. Overlook area behind main house has a great view.

My husband and I stayed here while we were in town for my dad’s funeral.This was the perfect place to rest and retreat. 5star service with excellent breakfast,lunch and dinner. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. It is so peaceful and serene here. I cannot wait to go back this year. If you are looking to reset, I cannot recommend a better getaway. The rooms are spacious and clean with a million dollar balcony view. Absolutely breathtaking. Also At night you can see so many stars!

We visited the BNB at Gorham’s Bluff and were mesmerized with the view, the setting, and the hospitality. The views are absolutely breathtaking. You feel like you have entered a scene from” Somewhere in Time.” This place is a hidden gem! Dawn and the entire staff were so warm and welcoming! Chef Decota outdid himself with the meal! Our filets were superb! The atmosphere was very romantic and absolutely lovely! We went to the top of the house balcony for sunset and it was stunning! We can’t wait to visit again!

If you are from a small town like me, this place will hold a special place in your heart and you will want to visit again and again as we plan to. The food was perfect, the innkeeper and owner were so accommodating! The bed was so comfortable, I almost didn’t get out of it for breakfast- and you know what, I didn’t have to if I didn’t want to because they will bring all of your meals to your room. We chose to eat on the back porch for all meals just to enjoy even more of the atmosphere. All you need to pack is clothes, toiletries and a bottle of your favorite spirits, the rest is there including a guest fridge with water, Diet Coke and coke along with popcorn snacks and lots of chocolate. Be prepared to do nothing but roam around and enjoy nature or relax.

We wish that we could give you guys 1000+ stars. To say that this hidden gem is outstanding doesn't do it justice. We decided to take a spontaneous trip and my husband found this place. I loved the pictures, they reminded me of a farmhouse. And within minutes of booking, Ms. Dawn called and asked if Chef Dekota could prepare our dinner for us. I have never had anyone do this. From the moment we got there, they were nothing short of amazing. The Roden room was clean, homey, spacious, and very comfortable. Dinner was awesome. I personally have never experienced such wonderful customer service as we did here. And we have stayed at a lot of places. We will be returning... soon hopefully. I loved the peaceful tranquility, no noise, no phones going off, a beautiful view. It's worth the drive and the money. Thank you again for making our unofficial anniversary weekend special.

Every single aspect of this experience was top notch. The inn keepers and workers were professional and friendly. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The lodge is absolutely beautiful and kept very well! It was immaculate. The food at dinner was delicious and the presentation was perfect! Breakfast was also an exceptional experience. We hope to return many times!
