Got married in the rose garden 11/11/22. We grew up playing here, and now so do our children. My mother worked in the rose garden for 10 years.
As always beautiful park; however, many things have gone without repair and look run down which is very sad. Especially the bridge connecting one side of the park with the other. It is actually closed with a sign saying to not enter the bridge because it is dangerous. Still one of my favorite places but needs more attention. But, the play equipment for young children is perfect and very appreciated!
A great place for families to spend time, especially with little ones. Lots of space to let them run. There is a playground set up for special needs children. Several playgrounds in this park, you can move around. Bring extra clothes and a towels and let the kids enjoy the water fountain. Great place for picnics. Fly kites here! Tennis, Golf, Softball, Baseball, Soccer? Plenty of fields to play on or practice on. Call to schedule a game. Book a Wedding in Advance in the Rose Garden, absolutely beautiful! There is a lake to fish and a bridge to take great pictures on. Photographers have lots of photo opportunities here. Buildings are also available to rent for Baby Showers and other events.
Beautiful park! One of the only gated parks in the area! Love that I can let my kiddo run freely without the worry of him getting lost!
I used to love taking my kids to this park but it has gone down hill over the years. They built a new park up front which is nice and keep the baseball fields nice, keep the flower garden going but neglect the bridge in the back that needed to be repaired or replaced many years ago and still is a danger to walk across on.
Beautiful roses and well kept park
Beautiful park with a little of everything. Beautiful scenes if you walk or run. Flowers gardens (large rose garden), gazebos, bridges and a lake (you can even fish). A golf course if you're into that. Do you like frisbee golf? They have that too. Great looking ball fields and they just added some gorgeous soccer fields. Finally, they have numerous playgrounds, including inclusive playgrounds for those with physical disabilities. It's just a great all around park.
Having a designated walking trail would be a great improvement. Now, walkers share the roads with auto traffic, and that is less than ideal. Utilizing the underutilized area around the lake and disc golf course seems like that could be a good start.

Really cool and informative tour of the lock. You are able to go all the way out to the middle and look out over the Mississippi. The museum itself is also very neat and interactive, great for families with children.
