Gorat's Steakhouse - Steak house in Omaha - 4917 Center St, USA

On May 5, 2023, my girlfriend and I celebrated my birthday by trying Warren Buffett's favorite steakhouse. The ambiance of the restaurant was great, and the staff was really welcoming. We ordered the New York steak and a T-bone. The steaks were absolutely delicious, and we were quite satisfied. They were so generously portioned that we only managed to eat half of each. When we asked for the bill and to have the leftovers packed, due to the hustle and bustle, the waiter accidentally forgot to pack the our food and threw it away. I was quite disappointed and expressed this to the manager, who then decided to graciously serve us two freshly cooked steaks! We were astounded and delighted, but decided to only take one. This experience at Gorat's proved not only that their food is world-class, but their service is too! We were extremely pleased.

Took out a few of my team members for dinner. Was expecting it to wow me based on the reviews. Great steak house, very laid-back feel. The food was good but not very exceptional. Was a fan of their signature steaksauce because it was on the very sweet side, and it paired well with the Bleu cheese butter. The appetizers were better than the mains, in my opinion.

Hello Viewers, Coming to the Gorat's steakhouse for one goal - to understand what WB favorite restaurant looks and feels. I honestly do not expect too much from the foods from a rational guys like warren buffett, I simply do not believe he likes the surprised and creativity on his foods. however, It's going to be the restaurant vibe, service, and location that he loves. Gorat's steakhouse is exactly what I expected. I love the how folky, welcoming from the staffs, and give me a quick introduction of the Omaha city and make the necessary recommendation of the foods, etc. This is a prefect place for quiet, casual, for events, business and group gathering. at least I feel very professional and welcoming from a business layover guy. It was on my bucket list for quite some time and why not it is the "buffett" go to place for having steak. So, we finally went in for dinner today and left the place fully satiated and happy. Our waitperson Greg was very warm & attentive with a sweet smile. Had to try the oh so popular "Baked Potato Soup" it was delicious, trust me you need to try it if you are reading my review. It was so creamy and texture was so smooth and perfectly done. Then we ordered Omaha Sirloin steak with sauteed mushrooms I personally prefer a well cooked steak hence I liked it very much taste wise. Grilled Garlic & Herb Chicken Breast was good and plentiful. Both the dishes were served with baked potatoes. We would definitely come back to try more of their dishes as we really liked the place and its courteous staff. Ample of parking is available and it is located right off the main street so yes location wise excellent as well.

Took my wife here for her birthday. Tasty dinner. We each had chicken fried steak. Not the best I've had though. Prices I thought were way high! Their steaks are around $32 and upwards. Eeeks! Was disappointed they don't offer bread with dinner. Seriously? We had a good time and the '40s music was enjoyable. That's the bread and butter of my review.

We had a wedding "reception" at Gorat's with 10 other guests. We had a nice private dining room that was just the right size. Rita was our server and she did an amazing job. Everyone was talking about how good the food was and our drinks were consistently getting refilled. I can't speak to their desserts as we brought in a small cake of our own (which was served for us as well). It was a very pleasant evening!

I’ve been to over half a dozen different countries, dozens of states and provinces, hundreds of different cities, and have eaten at several hundred different steakhouses or restaurants that serve steaks. So far…most of those which have claimed to be the best, have actually been among the worst. Gorats was a complete letdown. Whoever said it’s Warren Buffets favorite restaurant was either lying …or Mr Buffet doesn’t know a good steak. I’m sure the Oracle of Omaha probably only ate here once and then chose not to come back. Most billionaires probably know where the best steaks are, right?? When I first pulled up to this place, I thought, “Really??”. Ok…I expected to see at least a well maintained restaurant with a well maintained parking lot, but that’s ok. We’re here to try some of those famous Omaha steaks! Should be at least good, right? The inside of the restaurant looked pretty nice but not elegant. Still, that’s ok because we came for the famous Omaha steaks! So we went to our table and our waiter was Señor Rudo Impaciente. Wow man…I had never been to a restaurant where the waiter made ME feel like I was the waiter and HE was giving the orders. Well, as far as the waiter goes…I better just stop right there. Our food arrived. My wife and I ordered steaks (of course) and kids meals for the kids. Wait! What?!?! I saw the plates and was terribly letdown to see the measly portions of food we got for $30 and $forty-something. Then I looked at my kids plates and said to myself “DANG!!! I should have ordered a kids meal for $10!!!!”. Alright…so I kept an open mind and hope these steaks would be tender, juicy and flavorful. Not the case. Steaks were unevenly and improperly cooked. They tasted more like a Select grade rather than a choice or a prime grade cut of beef. The steaks were hard on the outside and chewy on the inside. I could barely see the cheese or bacon on my baked potato, and the mashed potatoes were disgusting. The only thing I liked about this place were the paintings on the walls. What a letdown. I’ll stick with Texas Roadhouse if I ever go to Omaha again. **A tip to the waiter…Good-tipping millionaire Hispanics DO exist and you lost out on a great tip. Sorry Carlos…Pablo…Juan…or whatever your name is.

Fun and busy! Great portions, and atmosphere. Service was also fantastic. The food was amazing, I recommend the raviolis and adding a Caesar salad. Worth it. ♥️
