The Good House was above and beyond our expectations. Beds were very comfortable (pillows were a bit hard and uncomfortable). Breakfast was delicious! Cheryl was full of information and made our stay perfect. We were celebrating our anniversary, and we were gifted balloons 🎈, a card, and a bottle of wine! We stayed in the Audubon room and certainly enjoyed the jacuzzi tub!
We had a great stay at the Good House! Cheryl greeted us with open arms and gave us all the tips necessary to better discover pretty Natchitoches. Our suite was comfortable and clean with all the amenities needed. Ken prepared delicious breakfasts every morning including Blueberry Pancakes! It was nice to share the table with other guests and we had nice conversations. For New Year’s Eve they hold folding chairs on the Cane River side to see the awesome fire works, best location and literally on top of us! We enjoyed very much that nice detail. The Good House is nicely located on a quiet street, just some blocks away from the center of the activity of Natchitoches. Went to Melrose Plantation, a very interesting history and art lesson, also to Oakland Plantation. Had dinner at Mayeaux, Mariners and Magliaux, all good! We recommend Natchitoches and do stay at the Good House!
We absolutely loved staying at the Good House - Cheryl and Ken were the most kind and genuine hosts - staying with them was a highlight of our trip. The house is real gem, the road is lovely and we loved our room, huge bed and the en suite (and jacuzzi bath). It's all a short walk from the old town too which is great.The breakfast was absolutely delicious- as Brits we definitely felt a warm Southern welcome and Cheryl and Ken introduced us to delicious Southern food! Cheryl had so many suggestions on what to do and where to go. She was very helpful and even once we'd left we followed her recommendations while travelling elsewhere. We really recommend staying here and would love to come back one day. Thank you!
What a gorgeous and comfortable house with wonderful hosts, who thought of every detail! The house is the perfect combination of comfort, charm, and luxury. Cheryl and Ken were such great hosts. Ken's breakfast was amazing. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Located right in the heart of Natchitoches B&B area and walkable to main street. We stayed in the Good Suite, but got to peak in the other rooms, since we were the only ones staying there. Every room was gorgeous!
We loved our quick trip and stay at the Good House. Our friends Cheryl and Ken made us feel right at home. It’s a great place to stay, immaculately kept and furnished very nicely. Also, the location is good. Breakfast made by Ken was delicious too. He fixed us some biscuit & gravy, chicken fried steak, blueberry pancakes, fruit, juice and coffee/tea. Thank you, Cheryl and Ken for your wonderful hospitality.
We went to Natchitoches, LA for the car show and we stayed 3 days at the Good House. Three other family and friends stayed it the other three rooms that were available. We all had such a wonderful time, Cheryl was so accommodating. We stayed in the Poete room, a very nice room with a super comfortable queen bed, cable tv, great internet connection and nice bathroom. Also a very nice pool in the back with a very nice sitting area. When we would see Cheryl she was always asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Lastly the breakfast was served hot and was simply delicious, with nice sized servings. If your looking for a B&B in this area, don't hesitate to reserve The Good House, you won't regret it! Highly recommended.
Cheryl and Ken were amazing hosts. The home is decorated historically well but also comfortable. Cheryl had great stories and tips while we ate the amazing breakfasts that Chef Ken prepared for us. The rooms are just the right size and beautifully kept. We hope to be back soon in time for the Christmas festivities. Definitely recommend staying here when in Natchitoches!
What a wonderful time my friend and I had at this lovely B & B. The Good house is a gem beautifully furnished and absolutely spotless. Our bedrooms were spacious and tastefully decorated. We loved sitting in the rockers on the front porch with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. Cheryl is gracious, funny and generous and constantly went beyond expectations even arranging a visit to an authority on folk art for us. Her husband Ken makes wholesome, delicious breakfasts. I'm a vegetarian and I appreciated that he tailored my breakfast to my diet. I've stayed at many bed and breakfasts and I like a location near the center of things. The Good House is located perfectly. on a quiet street close to downtown. Both my friend and I are walkers and on the short walk to the center of town we passed historic homes overlooking the Cane River. If I am ever near Natchitoches again, I'd stay here and would recommend it unconditionally .
The stay here was excellent! Rooms were very comfortable and clean and Kelly (the innkeeper) made our stay much more enjoyable. She greeted us every morning with a smile and portrayed a very pleasant atmosphere.
Great food and location, but even better customer service. The owner was so pleasant and polite. I enjoyed talking with her. She saw that my pancakes were on the dark side and stated that she would go to the kitchen and remake them for me. I am not f
