Golden Rotisserie - Chicken restaurant in Truckee - 11357 Donner Pass Rd, USA

I don’t understand the good reviews. It’s quick and cheap, but the food is not even good. My wife got two tacos, meat and tortillas were decent, but that’s all there was to the taco. No onion, no salsa, no cheese… I mean these aren’t even street tacos. I was excited to try the chile relleno stuffed burrito… but it was pretty bad. Maybe the normal burrito would have been better, though I kinda doubt it. The chile relleno itself was okay, but it was the burrito outside some sad rice, beans and maybe I got pork, but didn’t see much of it. Anyways, not worth returning. Too many good restaurants in Truckee.

Food was great here. Despite everything closed at the Northstar resort found this place. Burritos were good. And the tri tip quesadilla was amazing must try. When your out here.

Visited a few days ago. Heard the Tri tip burritos were good. The tri tip burritos was good, I enjoyed the burrito. They clearly were rotisserie the chickens behind them. So I got two chicken tacos one with everything and one kids. Big mistake. They gave us some nasty chicken in some tomato sauce. This is clearly done with leftover old chicken. I was very disappointed. They didn’t have a working bathroom sorry for the inconvenience (yeah right).

1/12/24 update - Food is still good, however, they need smiles behind the counter. Such an unfriendly place. And... I was given a dime sized side of salsa, so I asked for a 2nd, I was told there would be a charge for it. Really? Next time I should just not tip, because there is just no reward to do so at this place. I will go back for the food, but not for the service. Good food. The restaurant is not for in house eating. Suggest take away only.

Drove 7 miles to pick up order to go. They gave me 2 full bags and charged me the 58 bucks for order. When I got home it was missing items that we ordered. If your sell ing shouldn't you know if o order iscomplete. So frustrating because it's 14 degrees outside. You have small baby. And you don't want to drive back. The food that we got was just average. The salsa sucked. The tri tip tasted like dog

Wow honestly I cannot believe how delicious is the chicken, best rotisserie chicken I had in my life, the tritip is also really good and juicy but man that Chicken? It hit a spot in my brain, so amazing full of flavors. Outstanding and historic

This place is amazing no matter what you order ( pork burrito, tri-tip burrito, chicken sandwich or a plate) you won't regret it. The food is delicious the service is great and there fast with a great price point.

Decent food for a good price. Got some tacos and a burrito. The tacos were a bit too simple and the chicken was sorta rubbery. The burrito was good, but still really simple. They have awesome salsa which really makes up for all of the above.
