Please understand this is a Motel and not a Hotel. The doors to your room are outside and anyone off the streets can walk up and knock on them. I didn't realize this when I was making my arrangements. I didn't feel like the safety lock on the door was secure so I quickly put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the outside of my door. I arrived late in the evening and was given a room. I noticed that the television didn't work. When I tried to call the front desk, the phone in the room was totally dead. I had to use my cell phone to call. They didn't send anyone to assist me, but told me to unplug the cable and wait. I did this and the television still didn't work. They had to move me to a different room. The t.v. in the new room worked, but the telephone was dead also. The water was hot in the shower and the beds are comfortable. The rooms were clean and the staff is nice. There is NO complimentary breakfast like the website said. There is a restaurant in the back on the hotel complex that you can go to and buy food. The food and prices were decent. Personally, I won't stay here again because of the safety factor.
In town for a graduation ceremony at Fort Knox. This motel is quite simply wonderful. Great location, clean and affordable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will absolutely stay here again
Was very happy with our stay, rooms were clean and comfortable the property was well kept and pleasant. Very nice and clean indoor pool/hot tub area, felt like the hot tub temp could have been warmer but jet strength was great very relaxing. Excellent restaurant/café on the same property tucked up right next to the rooms (had a menu waiting in the room). The manager was very helpful and accommodating. Casey at the front counter was wonderful, super pleasant, we had a lovely conversation. She had plenty of recommendations on things to do and see in the area. After staying there and driving by the other options to stay on the same strip, was obvious Golden Manor is the best choice by far!
The hotel staff were super friendly and the location was okay. Convenient for those who need to visit the base. There’s a convenience store located beside the hotel and a family restaurant behind the hotel. The parking can be a little tight depending on where your room is located but we were always able to get a spot that worked for us. The rooms are dated but have been well maintained. There’s not a lot of outlets and the lighting was very poor but that’s common with older hotels. The shower pressure is horrible, they need to update the shower heads. Bathroom is very small and our fridge wasn’t very cold and didn’t have a freezer like most do. With all that being said, I have to say that the hotel was extremely clean and smelled good. Housekeeping will come everyday to clean and bring fresh towels. The beds and pillows were comfortable, we never had any pain from sleeping on a different mattress than our own (I usually always get back pain.) The only time we had sleeping problems was when the other guests above us were being crazy loud. The walls and floors are thin, so I’m assuming that’s why we could hear them so much. I would suggest asking for a room on the top level if you can do steps (no elevator) They are not pet friendly unless it’s a service animal. The restaurant located behind the hotel is called Backstreet Cafe. The staff there are wonderful and the food is good. The one thing that stood out to me was their prices. Is was cheaper for our family of four (2 adults & 2 kids) to eat there than any other place we had food at. In today’s economy, we are always looking for the cheapest way to feed our family while out of town. The prices are very reasonable for what you get here. We would definitely stay here again if we visit the area again.
Its a really good hotel. The people are AMAZING and the hot tub feels nice really the only thing that I see wrong with it is its non pet freindly but that's understandable Terri is really nice and sometimes changes are rooms closer to the pool when its cold. They have an indoor and outdoor pool witch I love <3 And people are usually nice. and I like the style of the hotel there may be ants but that happens alot we all have that probem. Otherwise this is a great hotel I do recemend
I've been here for 3 days and the service is great, but I had to leave. There's a strange smell in the air. People are acting strange, some are showing violent behavior. Police sirens are heard in the distance and LBMW says there's a movement of people toward Louisville. What's going on?
The rooms were fully furnished & the appliances were decent if they worked. The price was excellent. However the unwillingness of the staff to accommodate a long term stay has given me the reason to give 1 star. By not fixing hazardous issues & most rooms have mold & roaches & a few have severe cases of bed bugs. I was told the health department was called & have 1st person accounts. I'm unsure of actions against the Golden Manor? Also staff is unwilling to maintain professionalism by conducting in un-appropriate behavior. (Language/Attuide) Basically not professional!!! Regardless there are much better places to stay 15 to 20 mins before after the Golden Manor in either direction on 31 (dixie HWY). Be safe. Pay more for a room & Hopefully!!! NO BUG's!! 🪲🪲🐛🐛
Wildly rude front desk lady. We booked on priceline, got confirmation and traveled 2 hours to be told that "I didnt confirm anything!" When trying to ask questions to gain clarity on what went wrong my brother and I were cut off, spoken down to and told there were no rooms. Things happen, but the level of rude coming out of her face in response to us attempting to be paying customers was completely unacceptable.
