Golden Gate Lodging - Motel in Plattsburgh - 432 N Margaret St, USA

Great place, great service, great private beach. Not luxurious but clean and very well-kept. We loved our stay and want to go back next month. Close to many restaurant choice at less then 10 minutes by car.

The lodge is located by the lake and has a little beach where kids can play in the water. Parking is free and easy. It is easy to access to the highway or ferry. The room is small and facilities are old and basic. The bathroom is extremely small and does not have enough space for the toilet. There is no ventilation fan in it so that you have to open the window to get moisture air out. The stove is also old but working. The air conditioner is noisy but working. The bed is so soft that it is like a waterbed. The front desk staff is not friendly at all. This place like any motel is ok to sleep an overnight on the way to your destination. You get what you paid.

There are alot of people that reside there and aren't the best element to be around. In and out all hours etc. Wish someone had warned us. Rooms partly renovated and full of spiders. The lake is full of algae blooms and people were swimming in it. They must not know it's harmful to people and animals. No breakfast or continental breakfast but a McDonald's next door. Not our best experience unfortunately.

A good value in a low-frills motel. Rooms are partly renovated and tidy. Has its own lake beach and is close (bikeable) to downtown. No breakfast. Right on the Empire State Trail route.

I happened to find this motel online ,and so happy I did ,the staff " one guy" not sure I'd anyone else works there or not ,he is so nice and will do anything to make your stay pleasant .The private beach is just awesome especially after working 12 hrs ,I recommend anyone passing thru Plattsburgh ny too stay here you won't regret it !

Amazing clean rooms and excellent service! Come back here almost every month, and get the best service everytime! Bobby and Raj always go above and beyond to make sure their guest are taken care of! Beach front is nice and quite with an amazing view! We stop by Plattsburgh a few times every year and always stay here!

I have to honestly say that when I saw the price of less than $100 when all rooms within 2 hours of Burlington VT were $500 plus I was skeptical and scared! But driving an hour to sleep after a show instead of driving 4 is much safer. I was wrong the hotel is clean! Smells clean looks clean and actually is clean! The room is set up perfect with a table and stove and fridge the bathrooms are spotless with newer toilet sink and tub. Guy at the front desk awesome! We haven’t even slept yet just got here but wanted to make sure I remembered to leave a review! And let’s talk about the amazing view of lake Champlain ♥️ We will be returning! Thanks a bunch!
