Golden Eagle Motel - Motel in Niles - 1243 S 11th St, USA

I would LITERALLY GIVE THIS MOTEL NO STARS IF I COULD!! Went to look at for my son, and once I unlocked the door the smell was SO BAD that all I could do was stand outside and gag. My husband went in and said that there is mold, I could see from the door it was dirty and there was tape covering a hole in the bathroom. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!! I would build a shelter outside and trust it before staying here!!

We got a room here in a jam and wish we would have slept in our damn car. $75 for a room with a kicked in front door, kicked in sliding door that was taped back up poorly, the place smelled like a wet ashtray, we found a candy wrapper in the bedding which was not fresh, drawers had dead and live cockroaches and eggs inside, and the kicker was when it began to storm and the water was coming in onto the late 70s couch bed and phone. They have you initial "no refunds" before you see the room even....we spent an extra $60 on disinfectant spray, candles, bed bug/roach spray, and all new bedding that we letft there....we SURVIVED the Golden Eagle...we should get a T-shirt. Michigan; is there no regulations for motels???? Would rather jump into a hospital HIV unit "sharps" container that to pull into the parking lot of this meth mansion.

Worst place I've stayed in my entire 37 years on earth! First off, what motel is using actual keys for rooms in 2022?! While we're on the doors, be lucky if you have much of one left. Most doors look like they've been kicked in several times! No deadbolt or security latch for added security. One swift kick and anyone can join your stay! Thats just the doors. Carpet is absolutely foul, smelly, various cigarette and pipe burns with large patches of carpet just gone. No windows to open and cranking heat controlled by front office in May! Old $10 tube TV on a dresser with pipe burns and cigarette burns all over it. Room was so warm that the fridge was defrosting on to the floor. Lastly, if you like roaches and bed bugs this is your spot! You'll see many friends, even if you're stay is less than 5 hours like mine. How Berrien County or the state of Michigan allows this piece of trash spot to exist and take money still is beyond me. I'd give this place a thorough review before the County or State have a nasty lawsuit on their hands. You can't convince me this place passes any kind of standards of cleanliness checks as required as an owner/operator of a hospitality property. You've been warned and would enjoy finding a spot in nature over this trap any day! Any positive reviews have to either be family of owners or people being offered free stays to post positively. Check yourself and tell me otherwise.

This place has bed bugs, roaches, black mold on the ceilings and the owner (The Lady At The Front Desk) is very very rude!!! We tried to stay here a night and ended up wanting a refund from what we found when pulling the mattress back. We took pictures and showed the bed bugs and other stuff to her (The Owner) and she also went to the room and seen it with her own eyes but she said, it’s nothing I can do but trade you room. I cannot give you your money back. I told her to keep the money and go to hell! Definitely do not recommend this place even if the price fits your pockets go somewhere else! The place is filthy and will not give you a refund if you find bed bugs, roaches, or black mold!!!

This is a get what you pay for motel. It's 50 bucks a night plus whatever the old woman can haggle you out of that day. I'm sure she would even do hourly rates but don't be mad when she runs your pockets after that hour. She could call your wife or for 20 dollars delete the recording of you walking in that room. Yes this place is outdated and needs work, but the family lives there and aren't making a whole lot of money. As of 8-28-20 they gave the outside a face lift by painting the outside. The lady at the front desk is old and mean on the surface but deep down she helps a lot of people that struggle. She has to deal with a lot of people who don't care about the well being of her business. She has a son named AJ that is taking the business over from his mother slowly but surely he cares about the appearance of the place and how the customer is treated much more than his mother, but she's seen it all and dealt with it all. The old woman does make sure the towels and bedding are clean for new guests and that I am sure of, so I can't say to many bad things about her. This is my gutter motel I love to call home when I'm fighting with my wife. Or even if I want to kick it with my girlfriend for the night. Great for special occasions like when the sister in law comes to town secretly also. What makes me give this place 5 stats and not 4 is that it's located right next to the comfort suites where you can steal decent wifi. Comfort suites aloo has a contential breakfast that the eagle nesters can sneak over and grab as long as they don't get caught.

$250 for a week. It's worth every penny. If you want a fancy hotel, go pay the money somewhere else. The room was clean and I haven't seen a bedbug or roach. You get what you pay for and I'm very happy with the Golden Eagle

👎👎👎👎👎👎 If I could give a negative rating I would. This place needs to be condemned. The internet DOES NOT WORK. ALL the doors and windows ARE BROKEN WITH HUGE CRACKS WAITING TO CAVE IN. THE CARPET IS DISGUSTING. THE WHOLE PLACE NEEDS TO BE CONDEMNED!!!! 💯💯💯

I am waiting for the house i am moving into to be ready. Meanwhile my stay here has been fine. Nobody bothers me. Other tenants are not loud or disruptive. So far so good. I do have one complaint though. I am here for a week with my kids.. Why would they charge me extra for two people but not give me towels to compensate? 4 ppl and two towels and wash clothes is what i get.. I dont quit understand that but whatever. Not a big enough deal to really focus on complaining about it. I would recommend this hotel for someone who is looking for a cheap place to stay :)
