Golden Cone Frozen Custard & Ice Cream- royal oak - Ice cream shop in Royal Oak - 207 W 4th St, USA

Found this place on Instagram and had been plotting my visit for a few months. This was hands down theeeee best custard I've ever had in my life. The strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich was to die for. The down side of this delicious taste bud altering ice cream and custard (it's really a slice of foodie heaven) is I want it all the time and I don't live in Michigan. If you're from out of town...eat it and know that you'll be craving it weeks later. I also had the chance to meet the owner who is a delightful man and treats all his guests like close friends. I enjoyed the experience as much as the ice cream.

I can’t think of a single word to describe how absolutely superb the frozen yogurt here is.. but I can think of many: creamy, velvety, decadent, rich, indulgent, luscious, smooth, flavorsome, and heavenly I grew up in a city known as the frozen custard capital of the USA, Saint Louis, and I have yet to find any place that could rival the genuine frozen custard from there… until now. By the way, I am writing this while sitting in their parking lot. I had a large chocolate frozen custard malt and I couldn’t be happier. I feel so content. However, I can’t leave. I haven’t left and I am already craving more! I’m going yo get a cone to eat on my way home. EAT HERE! You will never find better😄

What a very nice young lady that was working there this evening. She was so pleasant and helpful. I had the AUTHENTIC Dole Whip, which was great. I think you just need to make the machine a little colder so I could have it in a waffle cone, but it tasted just as good as the one at the Dole Plantation in Hawaii. Ironically, the young lady said she had just been to Hawaii and didn't go to the Dole Plantation! LOL. My wife and niece both loved their selections as well. I suggest that a military discount would bring in more military customers.

This is my favorite place to get ice cream. Great spot for dating during coronavirus (strolling around town with ice cream with a romantic partner when everything was shut down A-Z). Generous portions and friendly customer service (always!). Our favorite flavors this summer: Black cherry, and pineapple. My puppy loves this place too!

4 out of the 6 times I’ve been here in the last month they run out of chocolate or vanilla hard ice cream. Very disappointing. So I’m done wasting my time driving here cause management doesn’t know how to have stock correctly. Their are plenty of other ice cream places close that taste great and have stock consistently.

Great ice cream and they had lavender (which is my personal favorite and hard to find)! I also had the praline pecan and it was great!

Very interesting experience. The crew working was gossip city and cared more about personal convos than the 3 paying customers. Received some attitude when asking questions. Lastly, they made up their own prices on the spot. We got two regular flurries and were charged two different prices. Again, very interesting overall. Won’t be returning - trying yogurt city next week.

This place has delicious ice cream and friendly employees. The employee was very patient as my wife and I made our decisions. They serve great quality ice cream and a good quantity of ice cream too.
