Gold Nugget Tavern & Grille - Hamburger restaurant in Minnetonka - 14401 Excelsior Blvd, USA

Our Beet group really enjoyed the beet salad, although it was way too big for most of us. The garlic bread is delicious and should come with the meal. Everything was great, until the separate meal receipts were passed out. We had specifically told our waitress we all wanted separate checks and she was fine with that, until it came to giving them to us. She had a lot of issues and needed help. There definitely was some grumbling at our table, as we all had to wait at least 20 minutes for her to bring them to us and 1 or 2 had to be rerun. We “thought” this was going to be easy. I’m sure her tip was reduced for this.

Killer burger! Ordered the patty melt that did not disappoint. I could not wait to jump in and almost forgot to snap a pic. Half burger pic is what you get this time around. It's so huge. I'll try and tackle round two tomorrow night. Always upgrade to the truffle fries. Typically live the cheese curds but went with the cheesy tots tonight and they are very good. Kids meals were excellent for a kids menu item. Fish and chips is a good size and was tasty and kids burger looked as good as mine. Always a good go to spot. Was busy on a week night after 7 which is good too see. Thanks for the good service and great food. Will be back again

Great little tavern- Food was well made. Ahi Tuna burger was fantastic- will be back just for that! Prices are fair. Atmosphere is great! very nice lighting and decor. They even have an outdoor patio area that is great in the summer! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a great experience!

Here’s the deal with Gold Nugget - it’s easy for everyone and it has a nice vibe but the food is never as good as you want it to be and a burger and a beer can easily be $35 after tip so yeah. We go as a family every month or two to have a burger out. The burger menu is fantastic and when the food is good the burgers can be really great. The fries/rings/etc are almost always cold, even when you try for the upcharge sweet potato or onions rings. It’s honestly weird. Sorta feels - like a lot of places - that they are short handed and also super popular, which makes for rushed service and mid quality. It’s always not quite what you - or they - want the Nugget to be. Oh the beer list is also great but doesn’t have prices and you can end up ordering a $10 beer without realizing it. At the end of the day we have and will keep going back because it’s the Nugget. But yeah.

We love Golden Nugget! Great outdoor seating and the food is always very good. Their ‘gold-fashioned’, their rendition of an old fashioned, is amazing. The prime rib was perfectly tender and delicious. This is now our go-to place. I love their fish and chips too. Lobster mac, they got it, and it’s perfect. Seriously, it has always been service with a smile!! Just all around excellent dining experiences every time.

Don't call me no Jamba-laya... ;) I'm not lyin!--No pants on fire over here, just burnin' taste buds Here's the lineup from a fine local tavern: ---- Jambalaya with Chicken, Andouille Sausage, Shrimp, Spicy tomato stew, and Creole dirty rice The People's Burger with Smoked brisket blended patty, Cheddar cheese, Tomato jam, Roasted poblano, and Garlic aioli on Brioche Chicken Enchiladas with Shredded lettuce, Pico de gallo, Sour cream & Guajillo rice ---- Call it The Golden Nugget or a hidden gem, this Minnetonka eatery knows can cook several kinds of cuisine in cravable fashion The Jambalaya was my jam! Just enough heat from the meat and stew, accompanied by a textural contrast of classic dirty rice and cravable crustaceans made this a delish take on a Cajun Classic The enchiladas were ever so elevated by the slightly spicy guajillo chili served in no small portion--and that includes the holy-buckets-worth of cheese! My foodie friend had this pipin' hot order surpass his expectations And finally, a burger made with brisket--How could that be bad! No beef with this menu chief, which continues to win TGN's monthly burger battle between two new beef creations where the victor remains on the menu I loved the sweetness of the tomato jam, the bite of the poblanos, the addition of creamy garlic aioli...And of course, such a hefty handled requires a robust brioche bun for consumption The Golden Nugget is certainly a valuable find--and I promise, it's no fools gold! With options for every appetite, you'll probably have to go back and find more favorites. I recommend trying mine... or mine to find your own supreme selections! Lovely patio. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. Unique menu options and flavors than your normal tavern type restaurant. The wontons were amazing! We will be back.

The food here is really good I had a Nashville chicken sandwich which honestly tasted a lot like a Korean Fried Chicken sandwich. It has delicious homemade pickles and it was mildly spicy with a flavor of sesame oil. The slab of chicken was substantial, but well cooked. Highly recommended
