Came here a handful of times the past couple of years, and I think ownership has changed. Some of the dishes do not look or taste the same as before, but it’s still good. My go-to dishes are corn cheese, kimbap, tteokbboki, regular mandu, tofu stew, galbi, bulgogi, and seafood pancakes. Everything has been good until the last few visits. Kimbap seems to be less flavorful and appealing. Tteokbboki serving size and sauce have depleted. It used to be A LOT when they first opened. Seafood pancake was not good at all. Too much batter. Squid was good but not good enough for me to keep eating it. It used to be a thin pancake that was crispy. Now it’s a thick, fluffy pancake that has too much flour and no flavor. Most likely will not order again. Tofu stew was amazing though! They were very generous with the tofu so I appreciated that. Galbi and short ribs were also really delicious even though the flavors aren’t the same. Also, no more sesame seeds garnished on top. Only meat and onions. BUT I do like how they give seaweed with it! That’s new and a nice added touch. Service was relatively decent for having only one person managing the front and floor. She answered calls, took orders, and served the entire restaurant. Must have had only one chef too because our food came out in increments so it kind of sucked not being able to eat everything at once. Our meat came out last so it was hard trying to eat it by itself when the stew, tteokbboki, etc. were not paired with it. They’re kind of stingy with the ban chan too. It was a party of four, and the first few rounds of it barely had anything on the plates. Pictured was maybe the second to last round of ban chan when I think the waitress got tired of having to keep refilling it. She was nice about it though. I still like this place a lot. Just be careful with operating hours. I feel like they’re always changing

Gogi was definitely a really good experience. As you walk in to this restaurant you definitely get korean K-pop vibes which my teens and I loved. The decor was beautiful with a very friendly atmosphere. The food was piping hot when it arrived to the table and our waiter was very friendly and quick. Our waiter was very good at making suggestions and explaining what ingredients were in the food. If you like spicy food you'll definitely find it here and did I mention its delicious! For starters I definitely recommend the garlic soy wings and the kimbap!

Great food & service! I would definitely eat there again! I got the Dak bulgogi! The entire lobby was set up and ready to accept customers :-) did not have to wait at all and was seated immediately. Food came out faster than I thought it would and was perfect temperature. Fresh and tasty! I got the dumplings appetizer and it was okay, not my favorite but I would get it again if someone else wanted it.

Maybe they're the way they are because they have no competition? Food is mediocre and pricey. Banchan is meager and trying to get more is like pulling teeth. The waitress tries to say "they ran out".. because they're literally out of half the menu items too.. how can you be out of kimchi at the korean restaurant??? That's like no tacos at a mexican restaurant, no pasta at an italian. I mean, I would just prefer you just charge me a little extra for more banchan if you don't want to give away free food, not lie about it. I do like the taste of the galbi and the bulgogi. The dumplings have no consistency inside, its mush and the tofu soup is peppery.

Absolute terrible experience all around. STAY AWAY The food. It's very poor quality Korean food. Zero flavor. The service. The owner is very rude. She rushes you to order. She yells at you and rolls her eyes. She doesn't want you there. 80% of the menu is unavailable. Before you're done eating, she's cleaning up your plates and asking you if you're done. They obviously don't want your money.

Very unpleasant encounter with older Asian lady while trying to pick up my order. I remained polite through it all because that’s just me. Then saw all the radish in my kimbap x2 order was expired - brown not yellow. Literally threw it away. Sadly can’t trust the food now.

Went to Gogi today and got an order of tteokbokki and bulgogi. First the banchan hit the table. It was incredibly meager portions. About a 50 cent piece size worth of kimchi, 3 or 4 pickled radish, and the same amount of spicy cucumber as the kimchi. The tteokbokki came out fine Not really outstanding nor bad. Had a solid gochujang flavor & decently spicy but the portion size seems a little small for the price, ingredients, and preparation for the dish. Now this is where everything just drops in quality 10 fold. The bulgogi came out a few mins after the tteokbokki and at first glance I was put off. The cut used didn't seem like ribeye. It was rly grainy and didnt have much color to it. The beef was practically grey. The onions that were cooked down in the beef had no color to them either and seemed like it was just thrown on at the last minute, and finally either the marinade wasn't put together properly or the cook simply didn't salt the meat. It had a feint sweet flavor with no garlic, umami, soy, or really any flavor whatsoever. They grey meat tasted like a combo of oil and unseasoned cheap beef. Anyways, I hadn't been to Gogi in many years (last time I had it, it was great) but just had an itch to get a quick Korean meal. Not worth the price nor time. I'd rather just go to Gangam Grill in Fat City.
