Glenview Motel - Motel in Dubuque - 1050 Rockdale Rd, USA

Nastiest place I have ever encountered. Sooooo dirty. Hair all over in the bed. Walls were splattered with who the hell knows what. Burn holes and stains in the blankets and pillows. The bathroom sink was torn off and caulked back on. Filthy toothpaste stains on bathroom shelf. Shower was nasty. No refunds.

The most disgusting room I have ever had to sleep in. Upon check in, I peeked in the bath room and it was small and dirty. After getting ready for bed, I pulled the sheet down on the bed, in my search for bed bugs, and the sheets had pubic hair and semen stains on them. I should have gotten dressed and left but it was late and maps did not show anything else in the area for a room. Ending up sleeping on top of the top sheet, vacated the room without so much as a look back. I will never, ever stay in a room like this again. I will sleep in my truck in the WalMart parking lot first. In addition, many of the room were rented out for long term stays, evidenced by trash, piles of cigarettes, etc. outside the doors.

We stopped here for a quick overnight stay during a long drive because the map showed it was right off the highway. We thought "it can't be that bad"...but it was awful. The woman at the desk scowled the entire time and was very terse, actually rude. When we pulled up to our room there was a questionable man sitting in a truck waiting for??? (he was there at least 15 minutes while we checked in and moved our things into our room) Our room was non-smoking but smelled terrible. There were cigarette burns in the blanket on one bed and sheet on the other bed (see photos). The bed-side table had something sticky-gloppy on it that hadn't been wiped off. The lamp was broken and stained on the top, inside and outside (see photos). Mattresses both bowed in. We left 5 hours after we checked in and never showered. Towels were worse than my rags at home. When we checked in they had a sign that said if we decided not to stay we had to tell them within 10 minutes. Should have paid attention to that sign!

The first room we were given was full of mold and was extremely strong smelling of the mold. It also had no towels. The people running the place could barely speak English and could not be understood. We also found out from locals that the place is one of the worst motels in Dubuque and quite often rents the rooms by the hour, if you get my meaning. The second room was better but still left a great deal to be desired. The doors appeared to be falling apart. Areas of the walls and ceiling were stained brown from water damage. The shower floor was not very clean. The shower curtain had brown slime on it. The window was already open and was rotting away. The he mattresses were both stained and stunk. And the blankets and comforters were full of holes. All in all, we will NEVER return to this place and would NEVER recommend it to anyone!

A friend and I stayed at this motel as we could not find any vacancies at any of the chain hotels/motels. We thought we were getting a good deal. The price was low and affordable, ~55.00/night. I guess we learned that you get what you pay for sometimes. Our room had such a strong smell of cigarette smoke that both of our eyes were burning. There were burn holes in the bed spreads, burn marks in the bathroom, I ended up having an asthma attack. We finally complained and the owner put us in another room and that one wasn't any better, the 3rd room we tried finally was better. We had wanted to leave and go somewhere else, but the owner said he could not refund our money once the transation already took place, which I find is B.S. There was also dried up pieces of licorice on the floor behind the night stand, it was obvious that cleanliness is not high on their priority at this motel. Also the soda machine on the grounds was empty, every selection I tried said "sold out." Also they did not come in during the day and replenish our towels or make our beds. We will never return. Not a place that I ever care to stay at again.

I have stayed in a lot of cheap motels and dumps this motel was by far the worst I’ve ever stayed at.The bed was disgusting I pulled blankets back and dirty full of hair it’s like they don’t change sheets,I killed so many roaches running around room and tons of baby roaches.pillow cases full of hair.spend the extra 20 dollars and enjoy a nice room else where.my cooler was stolen out of my truck first night there parked right next to my room door.hole in door can see right out side sayings written all over walls. This place needs to be shut down it’s bad especially if I’m saying it cause I stay at a lot of cheap hotels while working on the road year round.

When I entered the room for the first time I thought the man must have made a mistake and given me the key to a old dirty room that hasn't been cleaned in years. So I go and ask for a different room telling him my delema. All of a sudden he forgot how to speak English and walked out of the office slamming the door. Now it only gets better because AFTER 2 days of scrubbing and cleaning I ask the "housekeeper " for a clean washcloth. Seeing how filthy the one I had used to get the cobwebs, blood, Mold, and God only knows what else. She says to me...we don't clean with wash rags. Looking at her cart I saw that she was right. There was only 1 towel. No cleaning supplies. A empy garbage bag and half a broom . She had NO CLEAN BEDDING OR cleaning supplies at all! And was using a broken broom to sweep the carpet in the next to mine. WOW.....

Stayed here on a weekend when all the other motel/hotels were full in town. It was close to where we needed to be. The person at the desk was hard to understand. The room was smokey and had issues that couldn't be seen. I don't have allergies, my eyes were watering and I was coughing. There is a microwave and a fridge in the rooms. It could have been cheaper for what it was. They did allow us to move rooms and it was a little better. They would not refund our 2nd nights fee so we could go somewhere else. A lot of work moving from one room to another. Stay if you dare.
