I was here for the trail, but want to come back with the dog later! The parking lot was great and can hold several cars if needed, it was not super busy when I was there on a Sunday late morning in September.
The trail was a little washed out, but otherwise a great short easy trail. I enjoy trail running, and I don't think it would be fun for that in it's current state, but it was okay for a walk. Just in case you are curious, my watch says one lap starting on the north side and returning on the south side is about 150 feet in elevation gain. The view at the top was pretty cool, at least until they build houses in the distance. Wide open prairies, it was stunning!
Another great Open Space in DougCo. Quick 1.6 mile loop but a huge dog park next to both north and south parking. Great prairie and front range views.
my dog loves this park and i do too. great walk for me and usually pretty good selection of pups for mine to play with. not many puppies. my 6 month is usually the youngest. not many toys and not much equipment but some obstacles for the doggies. great walk for humans! really! trails right next to the park. come to socialize your dog or get some alone time but either way you’ll both be tired on the way home. when the weather is good this place can even get pretty crowded. two big parking lots for everyone to park. not off a very busy road. not much shade either.
Haven't done the trail yet buy the dog park is tops! Me and my 9month berner puppy come all the time. Well planned walking trail and small agility course. Highly recommend... much better than the castle rock dog park!
This is such a great dog park! It is massive and has plenty of places for your dogs to explore. It's a nice loop trail that climbs a pretty steep incline. Definitely a good workout for you and your dog. Plenty of places to drop off poop bags throughout the loop. If you're looking for a beautiful place to hang out with Your pup I definitely recommend this place.
Great fenced area to allow your pup to run around and find new friends. Dogs are friendly and owners quick to step in if their pup is getting over excited and playing a bit too aggressively which is a nice change from some other locations. Nice little agility course at the top of the hill for dogs to try out and a covered sitting area for the owners. Huge space so even when the parking lot is crowded there is plenty of space int he enclosed area. Also very easy to get to as it is off main roads and the highway.
Huge dog park, mostly friendly people. Of course you have your owners who don't understand when dogs are playing, if you have a dog that likes to play hard, but for the most part because they're such a large area it's easier to deal with. Bring your hiking shoes, it's all uphill from the entrance. Pictures are from near the top.
Nice little park on the south side of town, just off the highway. It has plenty of room for the dogs to run and play with it's acres of fenced in space.
Sadly there is little shade and no water for the dogs to romp around in and cool off during the heat of the summer months, so plan accordingly. As in: head out there in the mornings and evenings with the air's a bit cooler.
At the top of hill is a little obstacle course the people who are into fun and games with their canine companions.
The best part in the open space park next to the off leash area. It has easy trails and great views, but the dogs must be on leash as there are the occasional wild animals, such as coyote, prairie dogs and snakes, and cows from a nearby ranch that can get pretty close to the fence.
Also, horses, bicyclists and the occasional runner traverse these open space trails.
