Glen Gordon Manor - Bed & breakfast in Huntly - 1482 Zachary Taylor Hwy, USA

I did not stay at Glen Gordon Manor, but my friend and I booked massages at the Tack Room Spa. We were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds and how well maintained the property was. Our massages were wonderful thanks to Erica and Marissa! At checkout, we met Tatiana (sorry if I’m misspelling names). Tatiana was very friendly and helpful when we asked questions about services for both on-site and local guests. We then decided to stay and enjoy the grounds with a cocktail. Tatiana went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and the cocktails were excellent! We had a lovely visit, and the attention to detail and customer service were top notch. Glen Gordon Manor is beautiful with lovely decor as well as beautiful landscaping and gorgeous mountain views. I look forward to returning for dinner and another visit to the beautiful bar. Thank you for a great time!

We had a wonderful long weekend getaway in the Edward Suite and can't wait to return! The service was excellent, most notably Colin and Kate, and we were greeted with glasses of champagne and a tour of the beautiful property. The tasting menu and wine pairing were delicious. They thought of every detail, and the spaces were comfortable and beautiful.|Breakfast each morning was different and absolutely wonderful, the detailed and thoughtful service lasted from the minute you wake up until to you retire to your room. The property is lovely, with some "conversation chickens" and horses, including two rescued mustangs. The barn has a spa space, a 24-hour gym with Peloton, and a massage chair. The Edward Suite was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. We loved the rain shower, extra "solarium" with comfortable seating, and our private patio space with a brand-new hot tub. Highly recommend the sunset over the mountains from the hot tub. On our second day, we went hiking, and Glen Gordon staff packed us a delicious backpack picnic lunch. For the price, which is equivalent to other similar inns in Virginia, like the Ashby or the Boar's Head, this is our favorite place by far.

We found Glen Gordon Manor to be even better than we expected. The interior design is magazine worthy. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a beautifully presented and delicious five course dinner and the breakfast was delightful as well. It was an idyllic few days, indulgent and relaxing.

Glen Gordon is quite charming, as promised. The land is beautiful and we enjoyed being close to a generous-sized chicken pen (probably the luckiest chickens alive) as well as 3 beautiful horses. Our couples' massage was perfect and dinner was delicious.||We stayed in The Windsor Room which is quite nice. That said, we wished for: A full length mirror, a safe, a makeup/shaving mirror, bathrobes and a telephone with which to call "the front desk" for a fly swatter. We had 3 flies in the room with us, and I only managed to kill 2 with a sandal.||We arrived early for dinner and were seated right away. Being early, we chose to order pre-dinner cocktails. Unfortunately, we received them just 2 minutes before the waitress insisted on serving our salads. I think they may be a bit "understaffed" there. Also, as we left the building that evening, we both stumbled where the pavement meets the driveway. There is a step down which was totally in the dark. Not good.||All in all, I'd say it's a lovely spot with excellent service. It does have its quirks though, so I give it 4 stars, not 5.

Absolutely gorgeous property! The rooms are well appointed, the food is outstanding - breakfast and dinner - and the staff is so warm and welcoming. We used every amenity, including a fantastic couples massage in the tack room and the beautiful pool. Thank you Michelle and your girls for your warm welcome and for delicious breakfasts each morning. Thank you Scott and Izzy for an outstanding dinner experience! Everyone was wonderful!! Our favorite thing is that the property and food are high end, but not stuffy in any way. It is so comfortable and relaxing. Oh I can't forget "Chicken Vision" - so fun to watch while eating breakfast! We hope to come back soon.

Very peaceful and relaxing - perfect for couples or those wanting to escape from the cities etc. Loved the chickens, so entertaining.|Lovely food. Be nice to have a choice though as menus are set.| Outdoor furniture, i.e. parasols by pool etc were falling apart, would be nice to have 3 or 4 especially when weather is really hot for protection whilst around pool.|Loveliest pillows, slept like a dream. Kettle and tea/coffee making facilities would be good in rooms. |Did not miss TV one bit.

Tranquility. Though only there for one night, the setting, staff, food and accommodations conspired to provide much needed decompression for us after a few long days during the week. The dinner was one of the best I've had in a very long time and a great value. The well-appointed room was, like the rest of GGM, understated rustic luxury. Cannot say enough good things about the staff. HIGHLY recommend staying with Glen Gordon Manor

The Manor is truly a very special place to go to. My husband and I have been back there 3 or 4 times, each year for our anniversary. We are never disappointed ! The prix fixe dinner is one of a kind. The owner and Chef Dayne, is one of the most creative, superb chefs. Love the staff, especially our favorite Michelle, she is funny, attentive, talented in the kitchen and we always can't wait to see her. If you want a very special get away, go to Glen Gordon Manor, it's never disappointing.
