The owner was initially not nice. I'm not sure why she's not automatically pleasant to her customers. She's rude and abrasive. I truly don't get it. I'd be happy if customers came into my restaurant. My husband and I wanted to try some Caribbean food while visiting family in NY and this was a convenient spot as it was about 5 mins from the home we were visiting. As we stepped in, no one was at the counter to greet us for what felt like 8 mins, give or take. Finally a lady came out and was walking out to hand curb side orders. She came back in and finally acknowledged us and said just a moment. She was busy. My husband sat down and she said if we're not eating in he cannot have a seat bc she'll have to disinfect the area he was in. But the way she said it was with annoyance. She assumed we weren't going eat in. There's a better way to speak to customers. So we placed our order and got some drinks. Food was ok. It could've been good if it wasn't overly seasoned with sodium. The drinks were on point. Her customer service improved towards the end of our stay. She said she gave us larger portion than normal for the wait. I appreciate her acknowledgment but I wish this was our first interaction rather than the latter. Best wishes.

The owner was exceptional friendly, courteous, informative, and professional. She treated us with utmost respect and kindness. The service was excellent and food was served within reasonable time. Everything was super delicious and very healthy. The place is well kept. My family and I were truly impressed and satisfied. This is the place we will go whenever we are in town. Without hesitation I recommend this place to all!

Had the greatest experience as a first time customer to a location I didn’t even know existed. Loved the hospitality, the food, the music and the people. Omg the food??? Yeahhh I’m definitely coming back - and I’m bringing more people with me. They gotta experience thisssss! BIG THANK YOU! This was an amazing experience.

The place to be on Long Island (Suffolk County) if you’re seeking authentic fresh Haitian food. Everything is made to order, so be prepared to wait 20 minutes for your freshly made food. Amazing food, Amazing service, and Excellent home made cocktails. The owner Marie - FANTASTIC! We appreciate the hospitality!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!! I just took my Fiancé here for her birthday. I have to make it known that Marie is beyond amazing. Her personable personality and hospitality beats any restaurant I’ve ever been too. And the food? Don’t get me started, every bite was flavorful. Her and one of her staff came out and sang happy birthday to my Fiancé in both English and Creole making it such a cultural experience for us. I most definitely will be back and I’m bringing others with me.

It's always a delight whenever I visit Gingerbites. Good authentic Haitian food. Service and atmosphere are excellent. Not to forget the drinks and the "cremas" are top notch. Looking forward to return at the soonest for more blissful and mouthwatering flavors. Gingerbites Bistro is a vibe . 🥇👌

Very very small portions.. if you want the fried pork with rice , go for it it’s good .. they make really good fried pork and rice has been consistent in taste .. macaroni was decent Now THE BAD STUFF : *** As a food critic who travels many different states to try different foods I can tell you Owner is not to polite at first glance or second glance lol 😂..then again haitian business are not known for their great customer service.. now moving on , What they called legume was HORRIBLE , it was literally eggplant and carrots with alot of garlic .. no cabage or anything that would make it taste good , it tasted HORRIBLE. And they give you a little tiny container as if it’s a kids meal .. AND didnt even have audacity to fill it up .. I was so upset .. I’ll post a pic, you can tell when an owner is a penny pincher.. and I hate how they put the little sauce containers inside your rice , to give you less rice .. if your going to feed people , then feed them .. if you can’t give them enough food to actually fill them up then don’t own a hatian restaurant.. your not even getting food for what your paying at all.. I’m afraid to try other dishes as it would be a waste of money.. as for the so called desert pain patate , it was straight garbage when I ordered it very hard on the palates, no actual taste 👅.. and poorly served..I posted a pic … I gave credit where credit was due.

Excellent customer service. Host was very accommodating and informative . Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes for main course - The fresh food is worth the wait. You can munch on appetizers and listen music and chat to pass the time.
