The Manske roll was stale n chewy. I was terribly disappointed! The burgers we both had barely had any flavor. I hope we were just newbies on a bad day. Id love to try a fresh roll!!

This San Marcos favorite has been in business for seemingly forever. While I do like the chili burger quite a bit, the real winner is the manske roll. They also have independent soda companies on tap that are novel and fun when compared to your typical coke.

Overall the burger was good. I liked the smaller brioche style bun. The meat was a bit overcooked. I ordered the onion rings , they could have been delicious but, burned & too salty. I wished I could give a better review. The first time I ate at Gil’s Broiler was 1972. I’ll try the Manske Rolls next time. Thank you

Love this place! Home of the Manske Roll and some fabulous old fashioned grill deletes. Check out this menu. The atmosphere is authentic. Love this vibe. The folks that work here and run the place weree absolutely wonderful. Genuinely great service. Come here for the food, you'll be happy you checked it out!.

I just bought my boyfriend and I burgers from Gil's on Tuesday August 3rd, 2021. We haven't had burgers from there since we were kids. We're from San Marcos. The burgers tasted just the way they should be. The fries were good. To top it off we had a Manske Roll too. Delicious as always. Just as I remember. If you're not from here you should go by Gil's and try a burger and a Manske Roll. You won't be disappointed.

Went back to visit San Marcos and show my other half the great spots of my college years! Waaay better than I remembered. Manske rolls are always a MUST!

Hands down the best burger I have had in quite some time! We love discovering unique burger joints when visiting new towns and this one did not disappoint. The fries are fresh, the burgers had amazing flavor, and the buns didn't taste like stale old bread like most fast food hamburger buns.
