Gilded - Hotel in Newport - 23 Brinley St, USA

The hotel was adorable. The room was small but it had everything that you needed and there was a large sitting room available just steps from our first floor room. |The small plates breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. The employees were friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. |The Gilded was within walking distance to the shops and waterfront and there was plenty of parking at the hotel. |If you have trouble with stairs make sure you request the first floor.

The perfect bed and breakfast!!!! The staff was very friendly. The hotel is very quaint, quiet, clean, and inviting. The room was very quiet (don’t hear any noise from outside or within the hotel) and extremely clean. I loved the wood floor and all of the vibrant colors they used. The towels were very fluffy and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh ingredients and a delightful combination of light fare. Also loved that they invite their guests to join wine hour at their sister property, Cliffside Inn, every night from 5-6pm. Excellent stay.

Second time staying at Gilded in a eeek and I would absolutely recommend this property! The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Perfectly situated off of Bellevue on a quiet street but close proximity of all the Newport action. Love this Newport property!!!? Don’t miss cocktail hour at their sister property Oceanside! We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and the hotel was clean, but the maintenance was poor, the rooms were small and the guest service had some major gaps.||When we got access to the room, the maid was still in the room so we waited 30+ mins before following up with the hotel staff after they said they'd let us know when it was ready again. Turns out it was ready for awhile, but we weren't told. We also didn't get a welcome packet which had critical information such as a door code that's necessary to access your room after hours - you can imagine how critical this was when we came back to the hotel around 11:30 and couldn't get in the room. At that time we called the 24-hour line several times and there was no answer and no return call for around an hour. The AC in the room didn't work (which they did quickly address), but there were some large gaps in the wood foor in the room that were so severe they could be a safety hazard (see pics). They also don't man the front desk and aren't eager to help people once they're notified someone is at the front desk waiting. They do have a text line to field guest inquiries, but it's for a limited time of the day and the number they provide to text is also incorrect. The hotel itself isn't well maintained, the grounds are littered with trash and old debris from past projects the hotel has done. The room also did not have a closet, hairdryer nor iron/steamer - which is pretty standard for hotels.||After all of this, they over-billed for the stay. We booked direct and have the booking confirmation with the should-have been price. Overall very disappointing and not to the standard of other Lark properties.

Most relaxing venue with very comfortable bed. Super helpful and friendly staff. Tasty breakfast, easy parking and within walking distance of Newports fine restaurants.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE - DON'T STAY HERE I asked to make a change to my reservation an hour after making it and they were not understanding at all, just money grabbing THIEVES! HORRIBLE service during the process, never called me back after four conversations and several emails. BAD PEOPLE!!

Beautiful affordable boutique hotel with delicious food and great location. Walking distance from town, restaurants, Easton’s beach and the lively harbor.
