Enjoyed a nice one night stay here. It was beautiful, a little loopy on the road and the site was just a tad smaller than we're used to. The park is beautiful, it was very clean and quiet, the scenery was beautiful, the sunset was spectacular...and we would stay here again. It reminds us of Usery Park in Phoenix. We did pull in with a bigger fifth wheel that we just purchased, so maybe that's why the site seemed a tad smaller. We had electricity at the site and got water just across the street, so we felt like it was a full hookup. Well worth the stay. Next time we'll have to stay long enough to enjoy all that the Campground has to offer.
I'm not really sure what "Rooms" refer to in this Google Maps Review; there are no rooms here. But there are campsites - so that's how I rated it. I'm really shocked that this campground is managed by the City of Tucson. Originally, I thought this facility was maintained by the State Park system. The staff here are very polite and they take care of the place superbly. The bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of places to wash up and get fresh water after a long day hiking in the surrounding areas. If you have an RV, bring it. There are plenty of hookups here. ⛺️🪵 It's a great place for families as well. The only negative is that their website is not functioning now, and it's tough to get in touch with someone over the phone to book your reservations.
My hubby & I always enjoy our stops at Gilbert Ray! The park is beautiful and the staff just lovely. Don’t expect to have total privacy— it’s not that kind of place. My only gripe (and it never stops us from revisiting) is that they do not have shower facilities and for Van Lifers like us who have external shower setups— there is not enough privacy to shower. Every other amenity is exceptional and it is 100% pet friendly with no extra charges for your pets!
One of our favourite Arizona campgrounds, with 360 views of the most breathtaking sight you'll ever see. The sunset was absolutely incredible, so peaceful and serene. It's hard to believe the city is 10-15 min drive from here. The restrooms are a little dated, but clean and safe.
Beautiful campground. My only complaint, no shower, but this is the desert. Every site surrounded by native cacti and other vegetation. We saw lots of birds to include quail and lizards. On the way back to camp one evening, a bobcat stood next to the road.
Great campground near Saguaro National Park and Desert Museum. Sites are gravel, in amongst the cacti. Some tent sites. Lots of RV sites, most with 30 amp, though we had 50 amps. Our site was listed as 36’ but it was more like 55’. Electric only, no water at site. Dump site and water nearby. And, recycling. Lovely views and quiet. Can only stay at most 7 nights. Pina county campground. Road there is narrow (no shoulder), windy with lots of dips, but doable if you go slow enough.
The Tucson Mountain Park is fantastic and the Gilbert Ray Campground is our favorite in the Tucson area. The sites are large and spaced fairly well apart. The hosts are very pleasant and keep everything in the campground clean and neat. In addition, there is a seemingly endless number of trails for hiking and biking and the campground's location adjoining the Saguaro National Park makes it a perfect location for a Park visit.
Stayed 3 nights recently and was a very nice setting. The facilities are all well maintained. Sites are pretty well separated considering it is a desert. Nice views all around. Has water and dumps. The reservation system was a bit challenging.
It's about 15 from the base of the mountain. The campsites here have some shade. There's a seasonal Creek running through it, and is tucked away from the highway. There are parking spots for day-use hikers to park. It's a short jaunt from Tucson to f
Whatever kind of "-vore" you are, you will not be disappointed...these are some of the best pastries I've ever had!
I was fortunate to stumble upon this place while visiting from out of town. I had a lovely chat with one of the owners who talked me
Had a wonderful time with friends! The staff were friendly and helpful with instruction and staying engaged with our group. Facility was clean and organized. Having the option of throwing axes or throwing stars was neat! Will definitely come back.
Family fun for all ages! 100% recommended. We had such an amazing time last night with our family. We seen the Christmas show. This will definitely be a new tradition to attend every year to start the holidays off. Thank you performers you were in
ADORABLE shop, lots of cute stationery, cards, and stickers. They do fun crafty events and this would be a great spot to create a trendy gift basket for a friend for any occasion!
