Small little park on Lake Mendota. It’s most situated on a hill but great for sunsets and walks along the lake.
Theres a picnic table and a bench, not much of a park. The view is nice though.
Awesome spot for pictures, rock hounding, neat driftwood specimens, picnicking, dipping your toes in the water, and slowing down to remember how beautiful the simple things in life are. It's one of my favorite places in a city full of gems. I swear, when I am exhausted, anxious, or generally down on life, a quick trip here to force my feet into the chilly water is my panacea.
Giddings seems to have the best rotation of rocks of anywhere on the local lakes, that I have found. The sizes, types and shapes are different each time I visit, which seems to be fairly unique to this little spot.
Cool note from Madison history: Giddings used to be home to a castle up until the beginning of the 20th century. Google "Walker Castle Madison WI"** if you doubt my crazy-sounding claim. It's how the side street (Castle Place) on the south side of the park got its name!

Extremely chill hillside park. Good for catching a breeze and a small moment away from the downtown area.
Giddings Park is in a beautiful neighborhood tucked behind Gorham Street. There are a few benches, free parking, and a nice view of the lake. I was amazed to see a beach full of little shells versus sand! The frozen branches from the trees by the water were interesting to look at. I liked walking on some of the bigger rocks and watching the waves crash onto shore. It's a cute, tiny little park worth seeing if you're in the area.

A lovely, expansive view of Lake Mendota! There's benches to sit on and a huge, crazy tree that grows sideways-- perfect for climbing!
Also, did you know we have clams in Madison? Apparently! there's thousands of little shells and even some big ones!
Quiet during winter but worth stopping by for a coffee to enjoy the view of Madison.

Great place to just relax and fish! Clean atmosphere and great views. I couldn't find any bathrooms nearby. I am not from around this area so, not sure where they're found. Overall, it's an awesome spot to distress!

I came to the skatepark to teach my nine-year-old twins to skate, everybody at this place was so welcoming and cool. They made my kids feel right at home, the skate park itself is badass! Zero complaints, everything is perfect! Can't say enough good
I am obviously biased as this park is in my backyard, but the new park shelter and playground are amazing. It is such a joy to have this in our neighborhood. We also helped get the Community Garden going this year, which was an incredible addition
Great little park. The perfect jumping of point for many adventures. Sits on lake shore path, right near Monona Terrace on the west, and machinery row bike shop on the east. Free parking after 6 and on the weekends.
