Gichi-ode' Skiing park is where the heart of this city starts. There are no playgrounds, barbeques, restrooms, etc. Only recently when the 'city' wanted more tourist dollars did they 'give' this land, Chief Buffalo's, the name that 'they' gave. Me personally, I'd like a trolly...a pull rope at least! HILLSIDE
Fantastic place to view the lake from a nice vantage point. This secret park is often bypassed but it is absolutely fantastic. Super easy to get her from downtown. Go to blacklist or Zeitgeist for lunch and then go for a short walk to get at these great views.
During the summer, it is one of the best places to swim and enjoy a BBQ. When it is winter, I have taken some of the most beautiful pictures of the sunrise from the upper walk way.
Wanna to see an amazing view of Lake Superior and canal park? Come here
Awesome I love spending time there, sometimes I see friends or meet new people
Simple park. Could be used more often for more events. Has promise but it's not promoted well. Needs more events not necessarily tied to the name to promote it better. Great site for small artists to play year round.
This is an under utilized park that escapes the notice of most people down on the Lakewalk. The atmosphere is much improved since the Last Place on Earth closed - during the summer time I try to walk down from the office to eat my lunch, read a book, and grab some sun.
The Lake Place Park was recently renamed by the Duluth City Council Gichi-ode' Akiing which in the Ojibwe language means "A Grand Heart Place." This is a wonderful spot above the corner of the lake to gather, relax, and enjoy. It's a good spot to take in the 4th of July fireworks display as well.

Great hiking with beautiful views. It was cloudy and gray the day we hiked here, but we still really enjoyed it. Lots of different trails to explore with various terrain options.
Beautiful park, beautiful views! Really nice hiking trails. I am even impressed by how nice the restrooms are! The Enger Tower is a fun experience. Feels like an old castle tower. Very fun and a must see if visiting Duluth.
Super fun trails! Trails could be a bit technical for beginners. I like the fact that most are two way trails so you can ride the trails going down or up. I was challanged on my rock climbing and descending skills... Fun!
Great place to lay on the beach just a stones throw from the city. Beautiful sunrise views & great drop-in place for kayaking to cruise over to the channel for big boat watching. Quiet parking lot, not huge so that's both a plus & minus depending on
Wild State Cider has so many delicious options to choose from! Hands down one of my top favorite cidery. So delicious! I didn't try them but they also have a variety of THC infused beverages if that's more your thing!
