“Free” entrance with a $20 parking fee and $52 sandwich lunch. Great museum with some famous collections by Van Goth & Rembrandt that you need a few hours to tick them all off

The Getty Research center is an Amazing, but often over looked stop in the Getty experience. Here, you can see a small exhibit of the museum, and there is also a world class research library in the same room. I would definitely suggest stopping by on any trip to the Getty Center.

AMAZING place! I didn't love the food at the cafe, but I'll bring my own next time.

It was very nice to see many old and magnificent paintings. It has a separate section about indigenous America history. Traveling here by public transport is very convenient. You don't have to walk from Getty center bus station to the museum as suggested by google, just walk few feets and they have tram service free of cost. If you are driving then there are plenty of parking available. Try to come early since it's less crowded and you can enjoy more :)

My sole purpose of going to this museum was to see the infinity room. We arrived two hours earlier than the opening time just to avoid the lines that I read reviews about. There were definitely some interesting pieces of modern art that I enjoyed, but I can't say that for everything that I saw. Overall, the infinity room was worth seeing.

Extremely interesting exhibits, all with just the right amount of explanation. Probably more than you can see in one day, so get a map at the information desk and plan out your visit so that you can see all the items you want... Photography exhibit, various periods of European paintings, Antiquities and rare books dot-dot-dot something for almost everyone. Call for a reservation because you can't just show up and attend. Admission was free but parking was $20. Then you take the tram from the parking garage to the museum.

The J.Paul Getty Museum is a philanthropic, hospitable effort that welcomes visitors from all economic backgrounds. Free to enter and view the exquisite exhibits. It is a must see. It is well managed providing maps and navigation assists, educational tour opportunities. The exhibits consist of fine art from all periods and genres, with original works by the great masters. The site is massive, architecturally exquisite, with gorgeous gigantic views of Los Angeles and surrounding counties. It is a photographers paradise. One day is not enough time to take in all it has to offer. It's logistically challenging to attend, situated in a remote area of L.A. If relying on tourist busses from hotels it is a very unpleasant & costly ride by hotel transport services especially the one I rode. Go early enough, plan to stay as long as you possibly can. There are many spaces and places for rest and recreation and eating and drinking. Being there at all is the reward and well worth the effort made regarding any access obstacles.

I was quite put off by the overbearing security guards. Despite there being hundreds of kids there, coughing and sneezing and getting their hands and faces all up in the paintings and artifacts, I, with a camera that had no flash capabilities was their constant prey. You know how you can feel eyes on you? That's how it was the entire time we were there. Admission is free, but it will cost you $15 to park. The restaurant requires a reservation and will run you about $24 per entree. The cafe is more reasonable, but requires a long wait. The Turner exhibit was quite boring. The artist used the same motif in all of his paintings, with light-colored sky converging down towards the center of the canvas, and down the middle, and some blurry objects supposed to be boats mostly, and occasionally some people or monsters. Even standing far away, which usually works with impressionist paintings, these works of art failed to yield anything worth viewing. The WW I exhibit was a complete waste of wall space. The research library turned into another round of being stared at by employees who seemingly were doing nothing useful.
