It has been a while since we have eaten at this restaurant, and the first time under the new management. Not to worry. The new owners have not only preserved what makes Gerhard's a go-to place but also have applied incremental improvements - the menu presentation comes to mind. Our server, Brianna, well attended to us - friendly, courteous, and the right amount of attention. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on this visit, and our dinner selections tastily complemented the event. We look forward to returning and sampling other items on the menu.

Absolutely amazing! I know it’s sometimes rough waiting for a table, but when there is a long wait there is a reason! We had a really great time here. The woman at the front, took her time to show me the restaurant when I asked her questions. This is our first time here, so I was really interested in looking around the whole place. Our waitress was Makayla, and she was super attentive! She answered any questions that we had on the menu, and also made suggestions for new things we haven’t tried. The fried coconut shrimp was absolutely the best fried shrimp! I did not even need the sauce. The spinach dip, large portion was huge for the price. The salad that we had, is much different than I’ve ever had but it was really good. The potato salad was surprisingly great. I got the farmers platter, and my husband got the ribeye. Everything was flavored perfectly! We will definitely be back. Probably our favorite restaurant Spartanburg now.
This was our first time visiting as we've just moved to the area. We sat on the more formal side, which was quieter and more romantic for date night. The server was wonderful to answer our questions and explain some of the dishes. The Farmer's Plate is a great choice if you want to try several difficult Austrian dishes. They have a good variety including steaks, seafood and several appetizers and desserts.
This is a great place to have German food in Spartanburg. The food is always delicious, and we try to eat here whenever we visit Spartanburg. Highly recommend the wiener schnitzel! Love the jelly on top. And the spaetzle is excellent, too.

The Farmer's special is an excellent choice on the menu of many choices.
I've tasted German cuisine and some places call themselves authentic German food but do not live up to the claim.
I've been in Germany 🇩🇪 off and on for 12 years so, if I say it taste Authentic European take my taste buds word for it.
What's different about it is every portion of the meals,salads I've tasted make you mouth water and the taste is "Ser Gute".
Did I mention the excellent waite staff who are very attentive and keep your drinks topped off.
I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this restaurant thinking it was gonna be an old beat down Cafe and I was in schnitzel haven 😅.
It's not cheap but the value of the meals are in line with whatever it costs.
Anyway in my opinion if you're looking for authentic this is the place.

This was the best dining experience I've had in a long time. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was exceptional, and our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful evening. Highly recommend Gerhards Cafe!
Having been built in 1993 it looked like a place in Germany. The beer menu was extensive and the wine menu was adequate. We had the best escargot EVER followed by she crab soup that was better than our favorite in FL. Hubby had rainbow trout Oscar with grilled asparagus. I had shrimp and cheddar cheese grit cake in a wonderful cream sauce. Then my husband surprised me with cream brûlée to die for.
Emma was so attentive and she took great care of us. We will ask for her when we return.

My first time there, everybody seem very nice ,friendly, and professional. I liked my introduction session so I signed up for the next three months. I hope it just gets better and better. I am looking forward to it!!
When I tell you Dr. Ann is on point, she is defiantly the go too! Everything she spoke about was truly accurate and she really opened my eyes to a lot of things and I truly appreciate her. Thank you!!
Great little place. Prices are very reasonable. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Ok, I only went because we were trying to keep out of town guests entertained. Had a great time! Very friendly and helpful staff got us started and since it was slow even took time to give us more pointers. Loads of fun and fairly easy to learn. Look

It is such a great way to spend the morning while learning about the railway. Our son loved it, and we enjoyed ourselves as well. Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will definitely be back.
Great little brewery although didn't have a lot of flavors that day. A friend and I split a flite. We tried an Irish Ale, a local amber, the Hawaiian IPA and a pineapple cider. All were delicious. Jacob at the bar was awesome. He actually new my frie
