Not the best Capitol Building I have visited. I think the exterior is quiet boring. Otherwise, the colors are beautiful and the museum on the fourth floor is also great. I had the opportunity to enter the representative chamber but the senate one was locked. The appropriation chamber was also open

It is one of the most beautiful buildings in Atlanta. Visited with family and friends during our recent visit to Atlanta. Immaculately maintained building, as well as the surrounding park. It was a wonderful experience to go through the museum,ñ with an insight into the history of Georgia. Some portions were closed due to renovation. Added attraction was visiting the Senate and House Galleries, which are open for public on specific days and time. There is no entree fee. A must visit.

The building was getting painted while we were there. One half wasn't visible in its grandeur. The public entry is relegated to a small door on the side of the building so some of the awe of the architecture is lost when you can't see what the builders intended. Overall, still a worthwhile visit.

Completely free but not a lot to do. The architecture was very pretty to admire and they have some exhibits mostly on the 4th floor. One of the wings was under construction making nearly half of the building inaccessible despite that there were still some interesting artifacts and displays. There is no official museum entrance or anything you just walk around the building to find the public entrance, go through security and then essentialy can just wander around the building all for free.

Really amazing building! All of the staff and security were really nice aswell except for this one security guard(pictured below). I usually don't do reviews but he was just ridiculous. He wouldn't give us his name but his tag said Frazier. He wouldn't let one of our group members in because she had an expired ID. He seemed to enjoy not letting her in and almost kinda got off to it. Then he started kinda hitting on her and asking her if she was married and how old she was right in front of her boyfriend and she just turned 18 a few months ago. It just wasn't professional at all and I can't believe they can't get better security officers than this creep at a building like this. Watch out for this guy. I'm sure we're not the only ones that have had an experience like this with him.

Not a whole lot to see here. On the outside of the building there are a few statues that were interesting, especially Jimmy Carter and MLK. I liked seeing the rooms where the House and Senate met. My favorite part of the Capitol was the fourth floor and all the museum-like cases they had. There was a lot of information on the history of Georgia, the wildlife, and the various state symbols (flower, bird, etc.). It's worth a visit, don't expect to spend more than an hour.

Of all the state capitols I’ve been to, this one is certainly the best by time spent and things to see. Georgia has had a very long and storied history, and I say regardless of modern day politics and virtues, they have done a good job of preserving icons and memorials and monuments from the past, unlike for example my home state of Virginia. It took them a while, but indeed having a son as remarkable as Dr. King, Jr., Georgia has helped to modernize whilst still respecting its past- it isn’t like Georgia had many reasons to reconcile with the North after what it and Sherman did to it. The grounds are extremely well-manicured (as a horticulturist myself), and the inside has many relics and such from Georgia’s natural and anthropological history as well. Well-worth a visit, pity about the riot fence, but just walk around it. Cheers.

This location makes an awesome backdrop for photo sessions! A little bit of Europe in the middle of Atlanta. The combination of architecture and the lake give a nice variety as well. The bridge makes for great photos as well with the Atlanta Skyline

Loved the bike technology and societal impact exhibit. Very cool for bike geeks. The only disappointment was that they didn't carry the cool bike accessories from the exhibit! The staff was super friendly and recommended lunch spots close by.
