This diner employs the criminally insane.
George’s Lincoln Park diner is an unassuming breakfast/lunch counter joint in a strip mall. It looks like the kind of place you would see in Triple D on Food Network. Upon ordering you realize it more like a place from Kitchen Nightmares.
In hindsight I should have known I was in for a mistake when I heard the tireless toil of microwave buttons in the kitchen. I rarely think of a dish that come out better in the micro. The other big red flag should have been when they told us that the french toast was presoaked, as if bread dunked in eggwash couldn’t be a made to order dish.
The real highlight of the meal was when we found no cheese in the 3 item (cheese, mushroom, green peppers) omelette. Our server assured us she entered it into the computer from across the restaurant. We asked for the cheese as the eggs were still steaming and I love inter table cooking, what we got for this request will go down in infamy for all of time.
Approximately 6 minutes later we were brought a saucer of yellow sludge. Confidently our server exclaimed “I had them melt it for you” to which we affably and uncomfortably smiled. Aha! The microwave duly at work.
If it were 1975 (my guess of its opening date based on the original decor still on display) this meal may have blown back our coiffed hairdos, but I’m certain George is rolling in his grave for the experience had within the walls of his namesake.
If this is your weekly hang, carryon, but if you’re hungry and have never been, keep it that way.
First time here , last time here.
Especially on a Sunday.
We ordered breakfast and it took more than 25 minutes. Place is chaos without leadership. It was certainly decent quality food, but the service and the amount of time to make a couple of eggs overshadowed the taste of my food. The owner needs to do something about this asap. Perhaps the locals are used to it and will stay loyal, but if you are new in town or passing through and wanted something to eat, you may want to go elsewhere... this was one of my more disappointing food experiences. I do not recommend George's Lincoln Park diner.
Food is good. Service is a bit slow b/c they are over extended but very pleasant and so willing to please. We will go back again.
Go here often but today we had a nasty waitress who did not like us or her job very much.
Love this diner. As you go you meet the people and it's a very friendly environment. The waitresses are friendly and remember your name. Great food and have some good lunch and dinner specials
Great food at a great price! Staple of the community. Lincoln Park is lucky to have it's very own Jersey diner right in town. If you haven't been here yet... What are you waiting for?! You have to give it a try 😀
I had to ask for a saucer for my tea and a spoon to stir it with. After 20 minutes my waiter came to ask what we ordered. Waited close to 35 minutes for French toast and home fries. A waiter was sleeping at the bar. No adult supervision present to make the business run smoothly. I will never come here again as well as advise anyone else to come here. Horrible waste of money and time.
Excellent place to eat always welcoming
Good food. Busy place with one waitress doing everything. She worked her butt off but the place was full. She did the best she could.

My heart is so full since they reopened indoor dining! The landscape of the restaurant had changed and think itâs for the better. The landscape gives a more intimate experience - I like how you have your own âcubbyâ with whom youâre dining wi
Looks like a very regular Chinese takeout at first glance, but thatâs where it stops. Food here is so good. Not the greasy, soggy basic, Chinese takeout youâd expect. Food tastes super fresh and the prices are very reasonable. Iâll definitely b
