Our second visit here, and it was very pleasant. A beautiful fall day with no crowds. We met up with Andrew the property manager and had a really nice chat. It's great to see someone with so much enthusiasm for their job! The house was getting some painting work done, so was closed off.

Loved coming here! We spend like an hour here. We all enjoyed it. The ranger in the visiting center is very informative. There is a small visitor shop in the front. In the back there is colonial clothes one can wear and dress up and take pictures. Upon exiting you can start walking towards the trail that takes you to the house where George was born. Man did he have a lot of land to play. Definitely a must see if you love history!

It beautiful and amazing place to visit. I took my wife already three times for walking. Office members are very very kindly to everybody.

Well, unfortunately my only chance to visit was on a day that was pouring rain, so we were unable to go into any of the buildings, but this place was still amazing. The visitor center has an incredible gift shop along with a theatre and a 14 minute video. The grounds that used to be the Washington farm are so incredibly beautiful.

Great little national park. Just big enough for kids to experience some history without getting bored. Well maintained and beautiful.

This National Park Service operated site features a modern visitor center, beautiful grounds, and several historic buildings, all well interpreted. Definitely recommend their interpretive programs, which you can find on their website. The building itself was built during the Great Depression to provide some visualization of the birthplace of one of the founding fathers.

I didn't tour the house, but I did wanna do the grounds. It's beautiful here. Only a couple of locations that might not be accessible to all due to the stairs. But the views, and basically everything else we're lovely.

Lots of long, beautiful walking trails. No bathrooms unless the park building is open. The house was built in 1931 and commissioned to resemble a feeling of what the revolutionist pride was when it was built and also to commemorate the memory of George Washington’s childhood home which looked completely different. His childhood home was build by his father Lawrence Washington and burned to a crisp on Christmas Day when George was only 3. The original oyster shell foundation is still intact. The original land was acquired by John Washington, George Washington’s great-grandfather and was used for tobacco farming and Popes Creek was an International Port of Call at one time. His family is buried on the land too. There’s some farm animals that reside there and look very healthy and handsome. Picnic tables and benches are plentiful. George’s family things are still intact like the brick floor to their dairy room.
