George W. Disney Trail - Hiking area in Dalton - 2325 Chattanooga Rd, USA

Excellent short trail! We are beginners, trail started off easy and got extremely difficult as we hiked rocky mountain side to the top. 45min.

It's a wonderful small hike just off the interstate. It is only around 2 miles, but there is a steep climb, so you get a little workout.

This is the best hike in Dalton, if not all of Georgia! I love the burn going up (it is really steep) and then the views from the top are gorgeous, well worth the effort!!

Whoever rated this hiking trail at moderate is very wrong. Its more on the difficult end meaning its mostly straight up and no joke. The views are gorgeous and well worth the effort up but wasn't prepared for it and many trails that split all come back together usually. Just follow the most used trail and you will be fine. 4 stars because needs more markers on trails to find your way, google maps literally won't get you there but find the church with the very steep driveway and its past the church to your left and left of the fellowship hall up above the church.

Well, the trail is definitely like other Trail users have described it... Very Steep in many sections, beautiful views, but the one thing that I would add is more to tell around the distance of the trail. The trailhead sign says that it is 2.4 miles, but is not super clear if that is one-way or round-trip. You can pretty much start getting decent views at a half-mile up, and the trail continues from there. I ended up going 1 mile out, and 1 mile back, and got to see what I imagine are the best views, but you could still go further at that mile point...just not sure exactly how much further. All in all, I would recommend the trail, but keep the difficulty level in mind

Its a good hard hike. Bailed do to poison ivy. Couldn't keep my dog out of it. Tough location to find. It is up a steep drive to the Tipton Family Center. Off to the left you will see the trail head. No entrance fee and pet friendly. Bring water, bug spray and sunscreen.

Perfect for a good challenge. But, sadly people have destroyed it's beauty. The trail is littered. Still, the way up is a great climb, very demanding. The pay off? A gorgeous view!! An on top of the world feeling!! Take out what you bring in. Simple✌

2 minutes off I-75 if you need a leg burner. I would not recommend this for the really young or really old. Don't go if you're not sure because it will challenge you unless you stop and rest a lot. I got up and down in about an hour but I pushed it. First time here, and I had to guess the trail a couple times: 15 yds in, go right. At the rocky outcrops near the top, one trail goes straight along the edge but take a left to get to the rebel gravesite if you're looking for that. I missed it so if you get to the benches and podium, you've gone too far.
