George’s Restaurant Bar & Catering - American restaurant in Waco - 1925 Speight Ave, USA

First time here. Randomly found this place had no idea about the history until I saw the menu. Food, atmosphere, and everything besides service was great. Service was very slow and long. Took forever for refills. Took forever to get our bar drink. And took extremely extra long time to drop off our ticket then took even longer to cash us out. We were there during shift change but that’s no reason to have us wait 15-20 mins to pay for our food. Waitress had many opportunities to grab my card and go pay. Instead she was more worried about cleaning and getting ready for her next shift. She even did a whole outfit change. When she came back she was wearing a different shirt and pair of pants.

I heard alot about this place and I was shocked at how small the fish was. I'm a small woman and it wasn't even the size of my hand. The food was just 'okay.' I'm going to give them another try on the dinner portion and see if it's better.. we'll 👀 see

2 years in a row, my wife and I have visited Waco 2 years in a row. We have eaten at George's 4, or 5 times, if that's any indication of what we think of the place. We are already looking forward to next year and have already decided to eat there for all of our meals. The prices are fantastic, compared to a lot of other places around. The breakfast is great! 2 adults, enough food to be completely satisfied, and all for under $20 before tip. Service has never disappointed, but you have to get there early, or you will be waiting!! This should be a go-to for anyone in the area!!

What everyone knows: good food, good service, better drinks, extremely busy! Can't go wrong with any of the menu items. Adults drinks are tasty and on the larger volume for longer enjoyment. Expect to wait to be seated even though the place is huge inside. Parking can be challenging depending on which of their lots you can get into.

The green beans are sooooo good! Love the bacon and cheddar fries. They put a big bowl of ranch and love the queso on it. The elite chicken fried steak pay extra for the better one and oh split it, it is huge!!!! I saw some table next to us get the fajitas big o style, I will do that next time. Onion rings were sizzling with queso and fajita meat stacked, do it!!!!

Our waitress told me the lunch special was boneless and it wasn't. No big deal but it is nice to know what you are getting when you order. Food did taste good but it rake a while to get our food. Kind of felt like the waitress forgot about us.

We always put our names on the list, but you can still get beer or something at the bar while waiting and they seem like having a lot of tables and spaces, so you won't wait that long, actually. We always start with Bio O draft beer (it's huge and heavy!) and I love their Bio O cocktails, too. Their the most famous and popular chicken fried steak is absolutely amazing as well as their appetizers such as samplers, nachos, onion rings and cheese fries! Price is very reasonable, each dish has big portion, we always take the most of the food to go after all. Can't wait to go back again!

We were in Waco and got a recommendation from a friend to go to George's. What an incredible restaurant! The parking lots (yes... thereare several) were packed. They were so organized that there eas almost no wait for a table. The menu had a lot of selections, and the food was AMAZING! The service was GREAT, all 4 times we ate there. It's no wonder you have so many people eating there and the parking lots were so full! This is a "Do not miss while in Waco, TX place!" We HIGHLY recommend it! We'll be back the next time we're in Waco!
