How long does it take to sharpen skates? No one answers the phone or returns calls
Been coming here for years! It's nice to recreate memories with my kids that I have from childhood. I had my first issue tonight when we found a broken mini-glass bottle on the ice and no one seemed to care.
Nice indoor rink with well groomed ice. Skate rentals are all figure skates though, so if you're used to hockey skates, bring your own or learn to skate with figure skates. Not that difficult, but certainly different. No credit/debit cards, but an ATM on site, and a small snack bar.
Great place to take the little ones to watch Hobart or just open skate with the family!!
I've worked many hockey games inside this building. Overall it's not bad, kinda has an old school hockey barn kinda vibe when you walk in. The one men's bathroom stall door is missing. They call it "The Cooler" and for good reason because it's usually 15-20 degrees colder than it is outside during hockey season. So if your an out of stater watching a Hobart or William Smith hockey game be sure to bundle up because it gets cold inside that rink. Concessions aren't even worth it food wise, drinks are passable. The ice is well maintained for the record.
We love coming here to skate! I bring the Girl Scouts (and sometimes Boy Scouts) once or twice a year. It's so reasonably priced: $5 non-resident admission, $3 rental and the concession stand is as well ($2 nachos, pretzels, jumbo candy, etc.). The staff is fantastic - very friendly, patient and helpful! I saw one of the guys helping a young girl lace up her skates and the rink attendants were having fun with the skaters, helping beginners and playing tag with the advanced skaters. A lot of the rental skates looked brand new and they offer skate sharpening as well. This is a fantastic asset for the Geneva community and those of us in neighboring areas. Thank you!
