Stopped on a whim. The grounds are nice, but the house is closed until later in the week. There are tours offered but it is by appointment. The gentleman there was really nice and answered a lot of my questions.
Was Nice little Spot , in middle of a neighborhood, take a Walk out Back near Graveyard, Nice waterfall.
A wonderful little gem right here in the town of Coventry. A historical site right in our own back yard. You can tour the house it only costs eight dollars. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. And after your the great a lot of land and hiking paths in the back of the house a great little stop that's worth a look.
Please do not miss this wonderful piece of history. The grounds and the house are well kept to the era! Better than all of this, these all volunteer docents are a wealth of knowledge and bring the heritage and history to life! Nathanael Greene is a great American hero and his families legacy only lives on with strong education and those who attend to this hidden treasure in the hills of Coventry, RI
I walked an hour from where I was staying to see this. Although it showed on Google they'd be open, they were not. After walking around the house, I was approached by somebody who informed me they had "personnel issues" that day and had to close. The 3 people who were there were busy with maintenance tasks, but 1 took the time to open up the house and give me and another gentleman the tour. It was $8. The house is a remarkable example of 18th century construction. The furniture, not all original to the house, were all classic colonial pieces. Overall, a remarkable place. I only knew it was there because of a sign on the highway. It was a great way to spend my time.
I went to oak haven elementary school and grew up in the neighborhood. Everyone knew about this place. We would Ride our bikes everywhere and had always had a fascination with history. I used to go right up to the windows on the tip of my toes and peek in the window! My Little imagination would put me back in time. I credit this location immensely for loving anything that has to do with New England’s history.
Great place to go, learned a lot of history. Very informative and really took there time with us. Even got a great recommendation for lunch. Thanks again.
I was at the homestead for a family event, so I didn't get a full tour of all of the history of Nathaniel Greene. The markers and legends were very informative. The area is really beautiful.

The staff is really nice. The prices are decent. So many flavors they can make with soft serve! I had lemon. But the lemon was very mild. Was more like vanilla.
Great little diner thatâs family owned and operated and very friendly to newcomers! We loved all the nostalgia! Breakfast was good, we sampled 5 different menu items. Corned beef hash was great as well as the cornbread and omelette. Fun little pla
Apparently if you want good food, you come to here! I have never been but I plan on it because more impressively, they have a great family that works here. On 11/3 Alexis Daggert became a hero to a dog named Vera and a family that needed her back h
My experience at Black Oak is consistently good. Everything I've ever eaten has been thoughtfully prepared and consistent with the menu description. Staff are courteous, efficient, and very accommodating. The truffle fries are DELECTABLE.
Stopped by for my first frozen pumpkin coffee of the season. Drink and old fashioned doughnut were perfect. Staff is always friendly and accurate with my drive up order.
