This is my daughter’s favorite spot for Japanese food in Brooklyn. The food here is consistent. We have been coming to Gen for over 10 years but I just decided to take photos for a review now. If you look for a spot for a Japanese brunch on the weekends, give them a try!
I just had a revelation after having the Gen ramen. The pork belly was buttery and savory and the egg was perfection. Their agedashi tofu always hits the spot for a cold winter night.
Gen is authentic, serving very high quality food. Terrific sake and specialty beer list. The service is great and the vibe is comfortable and unfussy. Oh, and they have the best japanese curry in Brooklyn!
Small, really cute place to have amazing Japanese food. All the dishes were delicious, made with fresh ingredients, from the kara-age to the rolls. The waiter was really kind and attentive too. I highly recommend this place if you want to have a great Japanese experience
Delivery is completely over priced and underwhelming. $20 for katsu without rice, almost $10 for carrot and burdock salad that is almost entirely green lettuce. A total rip off.
This is hands down one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in NYC (which I'm biased because I live very near by). Everything I've eaten here has been excellent, and all of the sushi/sashimi is reasonably priced for what you're getting. I think I've been here about 8 times so far over the last 2 years, and it's always been a good meal.
Super fun, small authentic Japanese place. Tons of options. I had the vegetarian dashi with udon and the vegetable tempura roll. When I say the soup was full bodied and the tempura had such a strong umami flavor I cannot emphasize how uniquely well done these basics were. The service was Lightning fast, and the servers were so good humored and accommodating. I asked for a dark beer and they recommended a beer described as chocolatey that was so perfectly what I wanted. I also had the green tea iced cream which was light and not bitter. We went in without a reservation but the staff let us have a table as soon as one opened up. We stayed slightly past closing, but didn’t feel rushed and absolutely enjoyed hearing the staff enjoying each others company. Seems like they are passionate about this place. Pictured: the udon I absolutely destroyed, the beer I had and the green tea ice cream.
Incredible fresh fish! We ordered the Omakase and it did not disappoint. Every fish was yummy. We also had miso and edamame as starters. Their sale selection excellent as well. The ambiance is very cute and intimate. Great service! We had an excellent experience overall. Perfect for a date or small group.
Minimalist awesome Japanese spot in Cobble Hill. Fresh awesome fish. What I love about this place is that it feels so family owned, but on top of that the food is just simply delicious. As Another reviewer mentioned mentioned there is no teriyaki dri

I had trouble finding the door to get in and ended up in the hallway to a private residence and then the restaurantâs kitchen... but thatâs part of the appeal I guess. The atmosphere and staff were good. The happy hour cocktail was great. The po

Stopped here early, 11:30am, for a quick bite. Angelo, my server, provided perfect attention and suggested a special that included salad when I ordered 2 vegan rolls. Pumpkin and Avocado rolls were yummy and Angelo asked if he should inform the chef
I've tried so many yoga studios in Brooklyn and Vessel is by far my favorite. The classes are all one hour with mats provided. The classes range in intensity, but are all facilitated in an inclusive and fun environment. The yoga pilates fusion class

What a great addition to the neighborhood! I've visited a few times and I love the cocktails, the ambiance, and the friendly bartenders. And the food, too, especially the appetizers! My workplace had our holiday happy hour here, and The Canary team
I just reached my one year anniversary at UMA and couldn't be more happy/proud. The core philosophy to "Be Unlimited" is in the name of the school and they practice what they preach. I thought it seemed ambitious to offer so many different martial ar
I started working out with Rich about a year ago and itâs the most consistent Iâve ever been with exercise. I look forward to my sessions because Rich mixes things up every session and keeps things interesting and fun with great conversation. Iâ

This is the best Brooklyn Portuguese egg tart outside of Xin Fa in sunset park! The lattes I get here are my favorite in Williamsburg as well. Itâs more suited for grab and go than working, but thereâs a lovely space to relax in. The owner is a
