Hotel is much cleaner than the area would have you believe. Very happy to have stayed here rather than downtown in a room 3x smaller and 3x more expensive. Great service both in the evening and morning. Great coffee and muffins - truly.

I have stayed here before and as usual found it to be very comfortable and clean. The room has everything you need for a nice stay. Location is ideal for me because my granddaughter lives nearby. There is free parking right within the hotel space, which is a big plus, but it is very tight.||Because of the importance of getting a room there, I made a reservation which is something I usually do not do. Apparently the hotel does not handle its own reservations, and I was concerned because the 3rd party sites were quoting rates way above my budget. Until I got to Booking.com, which I have used in Europe. They made my reservation at a very good reasonable rate along lines that I had expected. The reservation was honored, and all was well.

A very clean and tidy, excellent sized room with a massive bed!! Comfy pillows, good shower and bathroom facilities. The pastries from reception were very nice with good coffee and tea as well as apple and orange juice. A good sized TV, fridge and microwave in the room added to the facilities as well as an iron. The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Vijay the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly too and happy to immediately resolve any problems with the room( there was a slightly broken light switch and he arranged for it to be fixed straight away)

The room was crawling with bed bugs! I was bitten by multiple bugs, I woke up after sleeping for two hours, and I saw three bed bugs crawling on my bed. The staff claimed that there had 'never been any reports of bed bugs' even though the room was obviously infested with bed bugs. I had to hit the streets of San Francisco at 2am to find another place to stay. The staff did promise to refund my money, but they have thus far refused to do so. It seems that the Geary Motel works hard to manage these reviews. They probably have a lot of fake reviews, and they respond politely to bad reviews. Please do not be mislead! Do not stay in this motel. Terrible bed bugs!

Honestly perfectly serviceable motel. Decent sized rooms, moderately comfortable beds, and good service at the desk. Solid value for the money, would stay again

The TV did not have sound, which we discovered on the first night of our 3 night stay. We have let the motel know, and the owner said her husband will take a look at it. We were waiting the whole night and nobody came. We have mentioned the issue the next day, somebody did come only to tell us that it cannot be fixed that day. He said he will call the maintenance guy and have him fix it. Of course, nobody fixed it. We were also not offered another room even though they had vacancy. It was not that big of an issue but the way they handled it was not professional.

I am not sure why people are posting decent reviews about this place? I feel it might be a scam. It was so bad I had a four night reservation and left ten minutes after we arrived! The room was not in good condition, not only outdated but looked run-down and dirty. The smell in the room made me totally nauseous!! My daughter and I booked a room at another location! Although the description of this motel did not match the actual room they refused to refund my money. I would understand the first night but we are here for a festival and they would not have an issue to find someone else. If I could give this place 0/10 stars I would! Run!!!

Decent hotel for stay between GG Park and Presidio. Very convenient for visit to DeYoung and Legion of Honor museums. Lots of great restaurants around. Room was well equipped with fridge, microwave, and HVAC. Room was kept very clean. Parking was iffy.
