Gator's Dockside Brownwood - American restaurant in The Villages - 3698 Meggison Rd, USA

Fun and festive atmosphere, often with live music. Outside seating overlooking a lake . Servers friendly and attentive. Food service is a bit slow but the results taste great time after time

This was much better than another Gators dockside we had gone to in the past. Servers were attentive and the food was actually better. The grilled wings are gluten free so it was a rare occasion for me to eat wings, and they were pretty good. The Caribbean jerk and parmesan garlic I liked best, but smoky barbeque were decent as well.

For place called Gator's dockside they have the worst Gator appetizers. The server was fine. The cook came out with the second order of gator that was almost as bad as the first. I won't recommend it will go back.

Stopped in for a late lunch and was greeted by very nice staff. Young kids, but very courteous and always smiling. Sat outside where there was a band playing. Nice view and ambiance. My oldest son ordered the wings, which were really good. My youngest hot the Mac n cheese, and he too liked it. Unfortunately, my husband and I ordered the fish tacos, but when they arrived, they were made like fajita style. Not the norm, and not what we expected. It lacked flavor, and it just did not taste good. If we ever come back, I'd definitely get the wings.

Best chicken Philly that I have had at a gators! Our server Isha was friendly and attentive. I will definitely ask for her next time I visit.

Ordered lobster ravioli, lobster bisque, garlic bread and drinks. Restaurant was not that busy but it took almost 45 min for our food to show up. The service sucks here, waiter was OK. Requested that they try to get food out quickly because of health issues. They didn't care. What place takes over 45 min to get soup and ravioli to the table? Won't be going back anytime soon.

We arrived around 5:30 on 3/1/22 and were greeted by the manager who told us is would be a 30 minute wait because there were only 2 servers working. Our gut said go somewhere else...we should have trusted our gut. He put us at a booth after about 15 minutes saying that our server would be with us when she can, but he'll get drinks for us while we wait. As soon as he left to get the drinks a server showed up to take our order...that was the last we saw of her. Cigarette smoke from outside seating was drifting in through the windows... not very appetizing. About 5 minutes before our food was brought to us by a runner, we were wondering if they lost our ticket. We got the Gator Nachos (as an entree) and Gator Gumbo. The Nachos were average and the gumbo wasn’t very hot…temperature wise. But, OMG, it was so spicy hot! So hot that I couldn’t taste any other flavors. I like spicy foods, but this was too spicy…and no drink refills! The gumbo was also too thick. After waiting for too long, we flagged down the manager to get our check. I get that they are understaffed, but there really weren't many tables to tend to since people weren't being seated until they could be served. Maybe one day when they have enough wait staff, we’ll come back, but will never get the gumbo again.

My burger was not done as ordered. Waitress FINALLY came around. Sent back to finish cooking. It took longer to cook the burger a little more than it took to get all 4 of our original meals. Waitress never checked back with us …nor with the progress in the kitchen. By the time I got my plate of food back - the other 3 in my party were completely finished eating and their plates already cleared.from the table … informed waitress to just take it off my bill …she decided to argue with me about it. Still NO apologies. I didn’t go out to eat with another couple and my husband so I could eat alone. . Then my husband ordered another drink - the waitress never came back with his drink …just the bill. The whole experience was ridicules !!!!
