Gather on Maui for Food & Drink - Pacific Rim restaurant in Kihei - 100 Wailea Golf Club Dr, USA

I had my wedding here on 9/20/23. I was happy to be able to plan it pretty last minute, within a few weeks, due to my original wedding being canceled in West Maui. Considering the circumstances, I'm happy with how the wedding turned out. The guests really enjoyed the food and the cake was very delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive. They set up our own little bar nearby so that nobody had to walk very far to get drinks. The wedding ceremony was beautiful as well, it's convenient to have both the ceremony and reception in one place. Susan and the events website have all of the info you could need and it's really a good value compared to some of the other choices on the island. One issue I had was that the lobby was under construction during my morning ceremony, so our coordinator opted against people waiting inside of there and they couldn't wait indoors anywhere else due to the restaurant being closed. When I arrived, most of the guests (including my groom) could have seen me inside of the car when I pulled up. Some guests did admit they saw me before the ceremony. There were trucks backing up and beeping and there were construction noises during our ceremony. I wish that just for 30 minutes they could have paused. 2 of our tables at the reception were completely in the sun. This confused me because I was told by Susan that other locations at the venue were not available because they were not shaded. Luckily, my family asked for umbrellas and got them before I arrived to the reception. Usually Maui has a nice breeze, we could feel it at the sweetheart table, but the rest of the guests couldn't feel it and were pretty hot at the lower pond from 12 - 2. We are from a very hot and humid part of the U.S. so it wasn't unbearable. With the indoor part of the restaurant being adjacent, they could walk in and cool off for a bit.

Initially thought to avoid a "golf course restaurant" - not that I am opposed to golf or golfers, just that restaurant's attached to golf courses normally fall into a certain category. Gather of Maui is none of that, terrific setting with plenty of space an uncrowded feel even there was plenty of capacity. Plenty of easy parking right out front, and an elegant feel of the gardens walking in. Enthusiastic service and good food.

Personally, I can't find any flaws in my visit to Gather in Maui! We were here for lunch, so it was quieter/less busy than it would be dinner time. That being said, the patio was still somewhat busy yet we managed to get a table with a wonderful view. Our server was actually the bartender (a testament to how not-busy it was that he was tending the bar but also coming outside to serve us). He was great! Super informative, helpful, knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. We loved our pina on the rocks cocktails (such perfection!) and also had the blackened fish tacos and the grilled fish sandwich (both made with mahi mahi on this day). The food was very good, the service was solid, and the views and ambiance were priceless. He also brought out a book along with our check and said we could write a message inside. It was a creative and more personal way of dropping off the check! It was fun to see messages in there from other past visitors, and of course we added our own little message as well. I'm sure coming here for dinner would be even better with a more substantial menu and potential sunset views, but I was very happy with my decision to try lunch here. Although the lunch menu is more limited, it was fine for us, and the views really took the experience to another level. I would happily return for a special occasion or really just any meal worthy of a fantastic view! Mahalo!

Sometimes when I’ve gone to high end restaurants, the hype is more than the experience. Not the case here. Amazing ambiance, service, and food. Great flavor. Generous portions. Highly recommend!! Zero complaints!!

We had our wedding at Gather, and are SO happy we did!!! Everyone from Susan our coordinator, to Rondi and all of our lovely managers - everyone was so welcoming, kind, and attentive beyond measure! It was the most magical night of my husband and I's life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone at Gather. You guys truly outdid yourselves, and I couldn't imagine it any other way. If you're considering Gather for an event, please don't hesitate. You won't find prettier views, friendlier folks, or better food anywhere else!! (Everyone was raving that we had the best wedding food ever!) We can't wait to see you all again in the future for an anniversary trip :)

Great location on the golf course. If you can time it around sunset the pictures are excellent. We did the Christmas dinner buffet and the food was pretty good.

During our search for a dining spot, we discovered "Gather on Maui." The online photos were appealing, and the menu prices seemed reasonable. Our experience exceeded expectations with outstanding service, exceptional food, delightful drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere both indoors and out. Particularly from the outdoor terrace where we were seated, we enjoyed a spectacular view of Molokini, adding to the restaurant's charm. Our server, Mick, was energetic and engaging, while Drew, the manager, ensured we were well catered to with a light-hearted approach. Sydnee added a touch of kindness and calm to our experience. The staff, including the discreet yet courteous table busser, made our visit memorable. "Gather" truly is a triple threat - service, quality, and atmosphere - making it worth every penny. Regarding the food, we started with the “MAUI STYLE” AHI POKE and OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL. The poke, a mix of avocado, tobiko, radishes, cucumbers, onions, sweet soy, and island chips, was impeccable. It has set a new standard for me in poke. The oysters were fresh and briny, a perfect start. The short ribs, savored by my dad, rivaled those from the South. My mom and I indulged in the 14 oz PRIME RIB, a key reason for choosing Gather. It was phenomenal, and I ended up enjoying not just mine but half of my mom's as well! The Bleu Cheese Whipped Butter added an exquisite touch, although the steak stood out on its own. For dessert, my mom chose the BANANA LUMPIA with vanilla ice cream - a unique and delightful choice. The mango sorbet was flavorful and sweet, a perfect end to the meal. To drink, my mom had the GATHER MAI TAI, which she declared the "best ever," and paired her prime rib with a Turnbull Cabernet. "Gather on Maui" is an outstanding dining choice with its excellent food, superb service, delightful ambiance, and breathtaking views of Molokini. Highly recommend!
