Rooms were a little small but still nice. The bad: Furniture is old and somewhat broken, could use an update. If someone is smoking outside it comes right in. Continental breakfast is VERY continental . Except for waffles, you are getting cereal and packaged muffins. The good: Clean, quiet, great location, staff are great and friendly, good internet and facilities. Price makes it worth the negatives. I'd stay there again, just maybe further from anywhere someone would be smoking.
We paid $200 for this room. Nicer hotels were.sold out, but still expected a clean room. Upon check-in, we found big crumbs and sticky drink rings on tables, previous guests food and beer in fridge, shower was dirty with hairs and soap scum. We almost though they gave us someone else's room on accident, because all it looked like they did was fresh towels and made the beds. We went to get it remedied, front desk was kind and very embarrassed, the room got missed, so they gave us another room. Slightly cleaner, but...still not great. We found what looked like conditioner spilled in the tub, handsome tray covered in soap scum, and dried blood on sheets (not stained, dried on blood droplets!) The walls are really thin, you can hear the neighbors and doors slamming. Tried to use the tv to drown out the noise, but cable wasn't working, hubby had to switch around the wires to fix it. I'd understand if this was some cheap, run down hotel/motel, but for $200 a night? We only stayed because all of the nicer hotels were sold out and we needed to rest. Do not let the online photos fool you, this place is not the one. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on a room in this filthy place.
The kids and I have been staying here for ski trips to Monarch since 2019 - long enough that we've established traditions like playing board games or Uno in the room before we turn in for the night.
Last year I surveyed the kids on why they love coming here (vs. a couple of other hotels we've tried in Salida), and the answer I got was, "It's consistent. We get a great place to sleep, a good breakfast, and it's the same every time. We know exactly what to expect."
That about sums it up. The rooms present as "fresh and clean" (having been renovated sometime right before we started staying here, I think), and they've made little upgrades over the years like replacing the door locks that used to "stick" in cold weather with modern keypads you just hold your room key up to.
My only "feature request" for the future is it would be nice if rooms could be booked with the Monarch Season Pass discount online (subject to verification upon check-in). Right now it requires a phone call to book with the Monarch rate. Being a millennial with a busy schedule, I often choose to forgo the phone call and just book with the regular online rate (roughly $10 higher, I think?) to save the hassle. (And I know that's on me because I *could* just call and get the Monarch rate, but still... an online option would be nice.)
In the end, we've always been happy with our stays here and look forward to creating many more family memories in the coming years. I'm also really happy to be supporting a local business that isn't some big corporate chain.
Very clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Stayed two nights had two rooms reserved. In town for a wedding. Breakfast was adequate but would have enjoyed more of a protein choice. But cereals, fruit, bagel, toast etc were available so you don't go hungry.
Wasn’t the best stay I’ve ever had. Our room was infested with moths— dead and alive. The sheets were initially dirty when we got there, but once they serviced the room they were clean. So unfortunate that I brought my own pillow and they took my pillowcase after switching the sheets out.
Seemed to be a residue left in the tub from their service after cleaning it. Room just felt dirty.
Gal who checked us in was SO kind— suggested places that weren’t just for tourists. (And when I say she was kind, I truly mean that. She was very hospitable)
Hot tub was a nice addition with the gazebo.
Breakfast wasn’t the worst— random items and most breakfast related. Coffee sort of tasted of tobacco?
I don’t think what we paid for (3 nights @ $520) was worth it.. I’d much rather spend the extra money and stay in an airbnb or a better hotel.
**After posting this, my card was charged an additional $330.
Salida was great, the people are friendly, and coming from a small town myself in KS, I can appreciate the slow down.
We walked into the room thinking we were in Vegas! Enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was great and had many offerings. We recently stayed at one of the chain hotels and they had hardly had any thing. Friendly staff. Would stay here again
The room was very funky Purple and gold like King and Queen. Beds were great. Room was spacious. Staff was very accommodating. The continental Breakfast was displayed well and was stocked wellGood job
This hotel is always good for us. The only complaint I have is there is no juice at the breakfast. The deadbolt didn't work properly on our door. The rooms are nice. For the most part the staff is friendly.

Amazing little place. We stayed in one of the cabins with a fireplace. It was very clean and warmed up really well in the cold weather. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. For being right off the road there wasn't too much road noise the
Excellent experience! The customer service was great and accommodating. It definitely felt like a quaint mountain lodge, which I loved. Great room rate, too. For what I paid, I'd definitely recommend it over a run-of-the-mill chain inn.

We stayed this past weekend just for a quick getaway. It was like stepping back in time. The rooms are very clean, the pool was nice and warm, the hot tubs were great also. We were able to check in early. My son accidentally left his favorite stuf
Everything was great. Usually I don't love comfort inns, but the staff here was professional and nice. The breakfast was good and well stocked. The rooms were clean. My expectations were exceeded.
A true skate shop, from the moment I walked in I knew I was at the right store. Knowledgeable staff you can't go wrong buying your gear here. I love that you have roller skates and support the local movement

Wonderful coffee shop! We stopped in with our 2 kids on the way from crested butte to Denver. They kindly made the kids grilled cheeses (off menu!). Coffee was excellent, and a nice selection of books and toys.
The entire staff is fun and super helpful. Also, if thereâs a shoe you want thatâs not carried, Andrew will order it for you to try on! Excellent range of trail running shoes and fuel - ultra runners work here to give you great advice about shoes
Wonderful house! The views are amazing and inspiring. It is just what you want in a vacation home. Close to many great places to hike or just take a drive. We visited just as the aspens turned and it was breathtaking. The hot tub was a wonderful addi
What a great fly shop! The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about fishing and rivers, taking time to answer questions and explain river conditions. The retail shop is fantastic, I can always find unique gifts every time I go and the

Their food truck passed through grand junction, was absolutely amazing. We got the tenders and the Philly, both fantastic. The tenders had the perfect skin, was amazing with bbq sauce. The Philly was HUGE, had to use fork n knife and was delicious. W
Much better than going to a coffee shop right in down town. Thereâs lots of space to sit and chill or do some work if you need. We were passing through waiting for our truck to be fixed and this was the perfect spot! They are quick and the coffees
This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in town. They have delicious waffles and coffee, and I always love to come with friends. The staff are very friendly and it has a cool modern vibe, with fun, tasty twists on typical brunch meals. Wou
We absolutely loved our stay here. The cabins are beautiful, clean, and smelled good. The bed was so huge and comfy, loved the private hot tub and community area outside the cabin too. It was a perfect romantic getaway for our anniversary. Cannot rec
