Gatehouse - New American restaurant in Philadelphia - 4503 S Broad St, USA

Stopped for lunch after a visit to Jefferson at the Navy Yard. The Calabrian chili wings were really good. So crispy and with a unique flavor that I've never had before. My wife got the Black and Blue burger and it was also cooked and seasoned just right. It was both of our first visit to Gatehouse, but I'm already looking forward to going back.

Great happy hour hangout spot. Plenty of delicious appetizers and draft beers, cocktails. Parking can be tight, but plenty of street parking a block away. Very attentive staff and quick turnaround with food and drink orders.

Found this place by the naval yard despite construction. Hub had one of the burgers and he cleaned his plate which also had a substantial pile of fries. I had the shrimp ap that was spicy and tasty with fresh plump shrimp, about 6 medium and a slice of toast to sop up some sauce. I added a side Caesar which was plenty lunch for me. It was chilly afternoon but I noticed a set up for outside seating which looked inviting.

I was so glad I went to the Gatehouse for lunch. The only problem is it's right at the gate but because of the detour I drove round and round in the navy yard. I did get a good tour of it. And then finally found the restaurant and I'm glad I did. The food was good. The atmosphere was nice because you could see the ships. The wait staff and hostess, and every other member of staff that I encountered were top-notch. I will definitely be back

What a wonderful last minute plan this restaurant was. Stopped here before the Villanova Game at Wells Fargo and was so delightfully surprised. My boyfriend and I were served right away with a very friendly server named Am B. We were also asked dietary restrictions. Our food came out with the just one dish first, a burger and salad. This was no issue for us. They delivered the chicken parm sandwich and fries about 5m after. First off, the sandwich was delicious and the plate was loaded with fries. Later on, the server came and notified us they were giving us the sandwich for free because of how long it took and understood we were trying to make a game. The whole place was a great atmosphere, great food but the service was really what stood out. Highly recommend and will be back! Thank you!

Good service and good burger, done to the right temperature as requested. Salad was not drenched with dressing so that was good too. Price of food was decent. Nice decor.

Delightfully surprised! Only one vegan option besides salad (avocado/beet compote) but it was amazing! Kids liked their burgers and my friend loved the tuna nachos. They change their menu often and the ambiance inside was great! (They have outdoor seating too) Wait staff was great! Wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

A friend of mine and I stopped here a couple of times after walking around the Naval Yard as a place to sit and grab something to drink.. okay so it was a few drinks and some conversation with the staff.. I'm not sure if she still works there or not but if your tender is a woman by the name of Kia, she's energetic, friendly, knows her various alcoholic beverages and she has a great sense of humor. the majority of visits were just beers or wine however the one menu item I had was the old Bay fries and they were seasoned just right in my opinion but I love old Bay seasoning and for me they were perfect
