Gateaux Patisserie - Bakery and Cake Shop in Dearborn - 1006 S Military St, USA

Came here solely for the partisan hot chocolate that they advertised. The shop is quite adorable and very well designed. The employees were nice and cordial. But in my very humble opinion the pastries are outrageously overpriced. $11.50 for a slice of cheesecake that is not any different than a $4 slice. The hot chocolate had a very weird odor and it is beyond sweet. Two sips in and I couldn’t continue. I couldn’t tell if it was bitter or sweet or just smelt very weird. Best of luck to this establishment but for me it just doesn’t fit my budget nor my tastebuds. I really wanted to like it.

Got the biscoff cheesecake, fancy hot chocolate and the carrot cake and SO GOOD! The service was great everyone was so kind. Definitely sweet and rich hot chocolate, couldn’t drink it all but very delicious!

Positive atmosphere and comforting delicious treats! Whenever I come, I always get a Custard Berry Danish, simply incredible (and not sickly-rich either, so so so perfectly created). The staff is always welcoming and kind. A hidden gem for sure, gosh these treats are so delicious.

7/27/23: I got the two cakes shown in the photo. This was a blueberry cheesecake and a custard berry cake,(writing review 10 days after so...). Both were extremely wet-moist cakes... and both were really good, probably the wettest cakes I've ever remember having. I'm not sure if its the complementary components of the cake(toppings/cream/etc) or what, but it was a great experience having it. Unfortunately the prices... left cake was $12, right was $9... that is well outside a normal budget for me for the quantity you get, and thus it loses a * (it is pretty good, but not amazing). If price is not an issue, and you like really moist cakes, then this may be 5* for you. I would love to support the business, but it is too much for me, considering there are other places that, despite not being as wet-moist as these were, are of equitable quality and for more agreeable prices.

I visited this patisserie with 5 people. It is tastefully decorated. We ordered their top 3 pastries, they were delicious and nicely presented. Taste was good but not extraordinary. Seating is limited, we went late night on the weekend and we were able to find a table. Service is slower than expected, it took them about 25 minutes. Prices were also on the higher side. Overall a nice patisserie and I would recommend it. 👌

Excellent sweets with rich flavour and superb texture. The cheese cake was dangerously delicious 😋. Also tried the chamomile and fell in love with it there. The seating is nice and relaxing. Overall good use of space and nice view outside. I applaud the owners for matching the quality with the price. Well worth it.

Oh my goodness! This patisserie is so adorable. From the outdoor seating to indoor. It's immaculately kept! Super clean, super chic. The colors and everything so well thought through. And of course the coffee and sweets were scrumptious! One of the best shops to get a sweet treat in Michigan!

Hosted my baby shower here & could not be more satisfied! They were AMAZING! Food & service were top notch! Thank you for making my experience so memorable! 10/10
