Gasconade Hills Resort - Featured Reviews (297)
Everything from before the visit all the way through went great. We had to reschedule once due to illness and ended up arriving very late for our first night; both times Sheila, the owner, was very easy to work with to make arrangements. The campsite was well maintained and had great amenities including very clean bathrooms with hot showers. We didn't get to use all of the amenities, but it seemed like they had something for everyone including kids of all ages. The canoe trip (we chose the six mile option that ended at the resort) was lovely. I couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend trip.
Just returned from a float out of Gasconade Hills Resort. The owners are SUPER nice people and very accommodating! They were able to shuttle me early in the morning as I had a 2 hour drive each way and wanted to get back at a reasonable time. I had contacted a couple of places for floating, and Sheila was the first to get back to me....so they got the business! The fishing was also great on the 6 mile float. Slow, so bring paddling help!
Spent two nights at this very nice campground. In town to see our son graduate from basic training at Ft Leonard Wood. A few things set this apart from most campgrounds: 1. Customer Service. The owners are on site working their butts off. The owner is a retired vet and opened the pool on an off day just for us. 2. Sites. Spacious and shaded. We were mid- week guests, so we had lots of space to spread out. Level pull thrus next to the river. We've camped a lot these past few years and highly recommend Gasconade Hills.
The owners of this establishment are some of the best people you'll ever meet! They are very accomodating and willing to work with you if you need to extend your stay with them. (I ended up extending twice!) Their restrooms are nice, and are cleaned daily (excellent water pressure). We will definitely be returning in the future for more glamping, and partaking in the rafting trips they offer..
Owners are the absolute best we have ever run across. We had time to bed our dog alerted us to someone at the door. It was the owner telling us a very strong storm was going to hit in about an hour. For our safety he works be coming back to pick us up to take us to a building across the road that had a basement/storm cellar. Our dog was expected to come along with us. The owner returned and we started in the beautiful lodge house. Then moved into the storm cellar when the tornado sirens went off. Once the storm had cleared, the owner inspected the campground prior to returning us to our RV. We have ridden it many storms in our RV without any staff even warning us off imminent danger. We are forever grateful for the care and concern for our safety of the warm and friendly owners of Gasconade campground. We will return some day when we are in the area.
Was mislead on access to river from our cabin. There is cliff access with an unkept shoreline, so no access. Room was filthy yet we had a note that said we needed to leave gratuity. I would have anyway but to be told I have to! I run my own business so when I called and booked I told them how important internet was to me. I was told there was a cell phone tower solely for the property, I have had ZERO signal since arriving! I’ve had to go to Waynesville twice since being here to conduct business! We had a float trip with angler kayaks, I paid extra for, that didn’t even have a well. We were sent off for a six mile and a thunderstorm broke out. We arrived at pull out five hours early freezing and soaked. Instead of offering another trip during our VERY extended stay. I was asked if I would like to purchase another trip. I bought dry clothes for me and my family and went back to my cabin. I will NEVER stay here again nor would I EVER recommend it to anyone!!!! No phone call, no voicemail, service isn’t the greatest. I did say something to your staff upon returning from the float. My needs may have not been met but the staff is PHENOMENAL!
10/10, would recommend. My financée and I went for a Sunday morning float. Very friendly staff and a great experience overall. If you want a relaxing float without the chaos, this is the place. We will be coming back.
I had a great stay in the pet friendly cabin! I did the 6 and 4 mile float and it was amazing! The staff was friendly and accommodating! I definitely recommend staying and floating here. I will be back for sure!!
Overall, very satisfied with the Wagon Wheel. Located in the tiny town of Richland, it is a nice break when you want to get out of the hunting camp for dinner. I will say the salad bar is outstanding as well. We also had the boneless Buffalo chicken
