A beautiful historical landmark and rich of history in 1800s. Garrett County history has lot of stories to tell and structures that found in this museum, from transportation, musical arts, fashion and agriculture and alot more. Free admission and the lady is very nice who help us and answers our questions regarding interesting stories we want to know. Very informative and a must see!
Very good customer service and a nice place in all. Very clean and they have a cute train in one of the rooms that if you ask you can make it go around the room. If your into old war stuff they have a nice room at the end of the hallway on the left that is filled with old war memorabilia. Also a room with antique writing equipment and phones etc. over all its a nice place to visit if your in town.
This was amazing! We all loved it! The guide we talked to was very knowledgeable and friendly!
There is no place like the Garrett County Historical Museum. If you are looking for a place to spend endless hours laughing and enjoying the company of great volunteers who are passionate about their community, then this is the place for you. I'm convinced it's the greatest place in the world; filled with lots of rich history and interesting stories.
The man working the day we went in made our visit a delight. He really helped us with family history. The collection is wonderful. Rooms full of history. Can't beat it. Always leave a donation when I go because it's free. I also usually find a book to buy. My only warning is that I wouldn't take a wheelchair in. Some displays are very close together.
Picked up a fee local books for Christmas gifts. The volunteers here are very friendly and helpful!
Lots of cool artifacts to see for free! Knowledgeable friendly staff willing to share some interesting stories.
This is a nice little small town museum preserving the county's history. It also seems to be the only museum in the area which keeps regular hours.

This restaurant was a converted gas station, and full of locals. Many of the tables had fixed in place chairs (kind of like McDonald's) which I find very uncomfortable, so we sat at the end of a larger table, and the hostess told us that was fine. We

9/7/21 EDIT: I wish it was possible to upgrade to 6 stars! Just got a cinnamon roll this weekend and discovered the packaging has been upgraded!! This was honestly the only downfall to the cinnamon roll prior!! Now, the cake can stay fresher longer!
Excellent food with a breathing view! We went to deep creek lake for a day trip and were looking for a restaurant for lunch. In December on a weekday you don't expect to see a restaurant full of people. When we sat down we realized why it was full. T
