We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! An impressive Bronze of Captain Robert Gray is standing at the street entrance to welcome you in. The exhibits were so well done and well kept. The museum was bright clean and exciting. Lots of local history and great displays peppered by donations from local collections.
I stopped by the museum to
visit the great exhibits on the
early exploration of the Columbia
River and the Pacific Coast by
Captain Robert Gray.
It was nice to see the history
on the early days of Garibaldi
with exhibits on logging, fishing,
and the early Coast Guard Station.
The Robert Gray exhibits offers
some great exhibits on his two
voyages that explored and
claimed the Columbia River
for the United States.
The other exhibits include a
historical firearms display,
the history of coastal tribes
that traded furs with Captain
Gray, a nice Japanese Float
display, and carved pieces of
bone or ivory Scrimshaw.
Located on Highway 101 near
Second Street in Garibaldi, a
short distance from the Oregon
Coast Scenic Railroad train depot.
A nice museum to stop by and
learn the history of the early
days of Garibaldi and the
journeys of Captain Robert
Gray as he explored the
Columbia River.
We are staying in Garibaldi and really enjoyed the museum as they have a detailed history of Garibaldi. They also cover the Oregon and Washington coast in regards to the original sailors who discovered the area. Nice museum and entry fee very reasonable.
This was a fantastic museum! Reasonable admission and great exhibits. Oh and excellent for kids! They had a dress up area and play area and everything! So thoughtful.
A very nice, very well laid out museum. Definitely worth a stop (and the low entrance fee $4), if you happen to be driving by or even if you are camping say 30 minutes away and want something to do. To get the full experience you'll have to read a bit, but worth it!
Best museum choice EVER!! I never imagined that my own family name would be anywhere let alone a museum. There is a wall on the first floor dedicated to the Vandecoevering name. I took pictures. I'm so stoked!! I have a clue to my family history after 35 years of knowing little to nothing accept that it's a Dutch name. Haha! I'm tickled pink by this I ended up having a panick attack I was so happy and excited.
Great little museum about maritime in the area. The admission price is beyond reasonable and they even had an extra little art exhibit going on when we visited.
A friendly Maritine museum with some great displays. Additionally there is a crocheted coral reef on display that is s marvel of knitting donated by some wives of Australian mathematicians.

The bagels were impressive - chewy like in Brooklyn. Iâm not sure how they did it in Oregon but it was a pleasant surprise. The salmon cream cheese had fresh, real salmon in it too. The cinnamon role was also good. The one thing I noticed was the o
My wife, a friend and I were in Garibaldi. This place was open for lunch. The restaurant was fairly funky inside, albeit clean. The restaurant had a mixture of tables, booths and a long counter with backless stools. We chose a booth.

Itâs a clean, relaxing park.
Itâs more of a natural environment, not concrete everywhere. Itâs walking distance to the little gift shops, and a nice walk to the jetty where the fishing boats are parked. Thereâs a restored Train that stops nea
