This is a cute house with a beautiful garden. Each morning we were served a large, delicious breakfast including freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade strawberry jam, scones, pancakes, omelettes, and bacon. But the best part by far was Mary, the hostess. She was a pleasure to chat with and to get recommendations about Newport. She is especially knowledgeable about the history of the area.

Mary is a wonderful host! She is very knowledgeable of the area and is incredibly sweet. Her bed and breakfast is very cozy. Mary makes a wonderful breakfast in the morning and you can request the time you’d like breakfast. Mary does a wonderful job making you feel at home. There are only two rooms at the bed and breakfast, so it’s very quiet. I would recommend to everyone!

We just loved Mary! She was so charming, and the house was adorable. We stayed in the Sun-Lit Suite, and there was so much space. There was rain during our stay so I loved reading a book in the corner nook with a view of the garden. It was really quiet and relaxing. I would definitely recommend to a friend, and I would 100% come here again just for Mary if I was back in Newport!

The garden view bed and breakfast was so charming, the rooms were very nicely decorated and very clean. Mary the owner greeted us when we got there and was very pleasant very knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, She offers you two times which is nice. The location is great is great! The Mansions are close by and the Cliff Walk is nearby as well which is well worth doing it. My husband and I walked the entire thing. We enjoyed the south end the best. At night time we took an Uber which picked us up right at the Bed and Breakfast And went into town did lots of shopping lots of great restaurants. We particularly loved the Thai restaurant and would highly recommend it!

Mary is a wonderful host! We loved our stay here, the room was cute and spacious, and Mary’s personal touch really made us feel like we were right at home. To anyone wondering where to stay in Newport, I highly recommend this place.

staying at gardenview feels like visiting a family friend. mary is so sunny, welcoming and helpful. we were carless in newport & she even gave us a ride to a wedding we were attending. ||||the b&b is nearly as charming as mary is. our downstairs room was big & clean, with access to a lovely garden space. it's within walking distance to newport's famed mansions & about a 10 min car ride or 30 min walk to downtown. homemade breakfast each morning was a highlight.||||the experience was much more personal (& affordable) than one of newport's big hotels. we couldn't recommend it enough!

Mary, Gardenview's owner, is a delight. Welcoming, engaging, VERY knowledgeable about Newport, and she cooks GREAT French Toast using Portuguese Sweet Bread. Really good!! My wife and I stayed upstairs. We like a firm mattress and the bed was perfect for us. The sunroofs and windows provide lots of light during the day. The back patio with a rock garden and water fountain is very peaceful for a sit and think or doze. The internet service was plenty fast for our purposes - watching a movie. The house is a ten minute walk from Bellvue Avenue. And, Mary keeps the place spotless: She's serious about "clean" and we appreciated that. We would definitely stay with Mary again.
