Garcia's Tamales & Tacos - Mexican restaurant in Sherman - 200 S Montgomery St, USA

I called ahead and asked for a dozen pork tamales. They said they could make it fresh which I was fine with. I pick up my order and go home..open up a tamala and the pork is literally CHUNKS. It was not shredded at all, and it had absolutely zero flavor. The rice had the same issue, zero flavor or seasoning. These tamales felt rushed and there was zero effort put into these. My food is inedible and my main issue is the nasty tasteless chunky pork they put into the mushy tamales. This is really upsetting considering I spent $22 on expensive vomit-inducing food. This isn't acceptable and I won't be going here again. Edit: I took a bit from my tamales and there are literal burnt pieces.. (check picture) this is the worst place I've been to for tamales. You can clearly see these were rushed for them just to make a quick buck.

I honestly can’t say enough great things about this place. Small mom and pop place with some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, I eat here at least 3 times a month. We have done done in (pre-COVID), delivery and take out. Today though, I had a very specific craving and not an item on their menu. Essentially I wanted a taco bowl, rice, chicken, cheese, tomato and avocado with a side of salsa. They happily made it for me. When I got home a scarfed that thing down and still have plenty for lunch tomorrow. Fuego

Ordered tacos for door dash because I didn’t have a way to get there ordered extra because it has to be so much, got my order and not one salsa with it. I called them to let them know and the response was we forgot explained that I didn’t have a way there and response was I don’t know what to tell you. Very disappointed in service today

Delicious! The 2 people they had were great, but also the reason i only gave them 4 stars. If you are a patient person thay loves good Mexican food then this place is for you. They bring your food to the car but while i was waiting I saw 2 different people wait for them to open their window but since they were busy with my food they didnt answer, so the customers left.

Gluten free tacos! We tried the chicken and steak options since they were out of barbacoba. Really good. Red and green salsa is provided. Red was medium and green was considerably hotter. To go only at this time.

This place is the best! Ordered through door dash and the dasher stole some of the food. Garcia's remade what was messing and sent one of their own guys out to deliver it! I will definitely recommend you guys to anyone.

Little bitty place. I've lived within five minutes of it for years and never knew. The workers are a real nice guy & his wife. Guy was so nice you'd think I was family. The food is crazy affordable too. If you're craving quick low maintenance food, this is a must try.

My partner and I went there for the first time two days ago, after seeing it all over Facebook we had to try it. Sad to say the meat was bland, everything was smothered in grease and made us sick immediately after. He also can't have onions but the request for no onions was unfortunately ignored. Will go to Tacos El Rey next time.
