This is a sweet little loop hike in an area where you would not expect to even find a trail. The main access is from Claremont Avenue, but you can also enter from Alvarado, Rispin and Evergreen. It's about a mile long with a pretty steep but manageable climb.
That was an incredible hike! Made me breath fast!!! Awesome views
Nice shaded trails near the Claremont Hotel. There aren’t really any bathrooms or picnic tables that I could find so plan accordingly.
This is a great little park nestled in a neighborhood behind the Claremont. The Loop Trail isn't crowded, and is a beautiful walk just strenuous enough for a novice or a family with young kids. There are several little rest areas for those of us who've been cooped up inside during Shelter-in-place and need to work on our stamina. (Or is that just me?)
The playground doubles as a picnic area. I didn't see restrooms, but dogs were everywhere !
If your looking for a good hike, this will satiate about 30% of it. But if that's all you want, then maybe this is a good hike for you. I don't know, I mean, how do you really rate a hike? In terms of shade, plenty of it during a hot day, good amount of historical background, and if you access the main trail it is a bit of an incline, but nothing you can't handle I'm sure. Anyway, you don't feel like you're away from society as you can still hear the roads and see some of the backyards of the surrounding houses. Glad I was able to check it out, but I probably won't go back
Good park for hiking in austere conditions. Limited unpaved parking and no facilities. Trails are not well maintained or handicap accessible.
This park is interesting because of the steep trail that leads up from it into the hills above Claremont Canyon. Well situated interesting hikes in the Berkeley Path system.
Beautiful n also heart wrecking. It does remind one of those grave moments but the glade has been done beautifully. Consist water flowing seems to be saying that new York will never forget those who left us that day. I dunno itâs very touching
I love this secluded little park. It's absolutely gorgeous. The hills are a little steep, but it's amazing. The trees are beautiful. It was raining the whole time I was there and I loved the mist on my face and the fresh air. It was just amazing.
Two amazing tennis courts and the lighting to play in the evenings is probably the best in Berkeley. Quite busy, would recommend reserving online. Public Restrooms behind the court.
