The room was filthy and smelled unpleasant (TOO EXPENSIVE!). After our flight was canceled, we had to find a hotel near the airport. Upon arriving at the hotel reception, having already waited four hours for our car at the airport, we were rudely lectured about the check-in time. Additionally, the receptionist called us five minutes before check-out time to ensure we left promptly. This was the worst service we have ever experienced. I would definitely NOT recommend this place!
TO TELL THE TRUTH - every once in a while I escape to a no name brand hotel and relax for an afternoon-as is the case with the Gallery Holiday Motel. The rooms are great! They all come with a hot tub - not a jacuzzi tub but actual stand alone hot tub. Also, the rooms are spacious and slowly they seem to be updating one at a time. Location is decent , right on Route 9, accessible to all you need. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful - especially compared to everyone else that works in the so-called "hospitality" industry in NJ. All in all, I give this place 2 thumbs up and will be returning for some quiet time and relaxation.
The room was not clean at all, it smelled like mold, cigarettes, and who knows what else. When I arrived the receptionist tried to convince me that my reservation, which I made online ~4h before arrival, wasn’t valid because I didn’t call to double-confirm it after booking (????). After lecturing me at 4am while I was super tired and just looking for a bed to crash on, he proceeded to say my room is actually available and that I can proceed to it. So why the lecture? The receptionist will call you early to “remind you” of the check out time on an unreasonably loud phone. Avoid this place at all costs. Poor hygiene rooms will make you want to puke unless the receptionist did so already.
The rooms (at least mine Peafowl Suite - Non Smoking) was like on the pictures on the site. A bit better. Obviously the room isn't new but it doesn't purport to be either. You get what you see on the site. On one of the wall there was some plaster (not fully finished repairing) but I didn't go in this room to see perfect walls!!!! ;) ) So the room isn't perfect but it's fully clean. By clean I don't mean not without any stains behind the A/C or some irrelevant spots. The blanckets, the bed, the jacuzzi, the toilet, the shower and the sink were cleaned. I wasn't reluctant to use them. Some say it's expensive. It is if you compare to a cheap small regular room of a random no brand motel but it's the avrage price for these types of rooms elsewhere in America. It's a bit cheaper but a bit older too (I have no problem with it. Just before sleeping we could hear some "intense activity" in the room next to us. Not a concern for me but the yell if you don"t want to be heard. The service: Nothing wrong about the service but nothing great at all either. The informations were given to us, the questions were answered but that's it. Service a bit "cold". Maybe the employee is not used to see normal couples considering the types of rooms. I personally think that the employee should be a bit more enthusastic (she wasn't rude with us.) The location: I didn't go there to visit around and enjoy the City!!! :) :) But close to it we found a garage that checked our car that had a problem the day before. We found a Walmart and a few restaurants around (using the car - a few miles away). If you want to have new modern rooms, want to be friendly greeted or are fussy: this isn't your place. BUT if you want those types of rooms, this is IT ! I wanted to take the time to detail our experience as I went though the reviews before trying it. Some people were plain negative. I wasn't sure if it was legit. The "need to be renovated" might be true but hey look at them on the sites. They are many luxury room modern and new elsewhere but they might be 4 times this price!
I love this place. I really want to invest! I have great ideas for this hotel that would help get them more revenue! I’d hire a couple extra housekeepers at night though. Maybe a small business that does that. It’s always good to support small businesses! I always do!
Cleanliness was a major issue. The room was far from tidy, with stains on the floors and bedding that made me question if it had been cleaned at all.Maintenance seemed non-existent.Everything from broken fixtures to chipped furniture screamed neglect.It felt like the place hadn't seen any upkeep in ages.The beds were uncomfortable. I had trouble sleeping on the lumpy mattresses and worn-out pillows. A good night's sleep was definitely out of the question.The staff didn't help much. They were unfriendly and didn't seem bothered by the state of things. It was like they just wanted to get through their shift without any hassle.Overall, my stay was a disappointment. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they enjoy subpar accommodations and lackluster service.
Smoking rooms have bed bugs!!!!! The front desk said they could come change my sheets...are you kidding me? Absolutely not how you get rid of bed bugs. They then charged me an additional $46 to move rooms...never again
It was great and affordable, if you want to get a short stay or overnight to serenade your special someone, I highly recommend the theme suites!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!! I rate this hotel/motel a 10 out of 10
