Galice Resort - Lodge in Merlin - 11744 Galice Rd, USA

Nice quiet place for a family of thirteen. Very pleasant way to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The rooms were clean. And there was lots of space for family in the living room. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes and appliances. Two gas grills on the deck. Plenty of space to park including covered parking spaces. Great place to stay I highly recommend it.

Been going here for 25 yrs. Today was great on the river but got to Galice... whats left after the fire 😔 they had people serving burgers that didn't seem very friendly or inviting. DEFINITELY not the usual Galice vibe they made us feel like they were doing us a favor by selling us burgers that were not the best and definitely not Galice burgers just hope they rebuild soon or do better screening on who they have filling in for them🤷‍♂️

Arrived to stay in one of their cabins the night before a rafting learning adventure through Northwest rafting. We loved the deck outside the restaurant with an amazing river view and a band playing fun music. The deck was full and the staff did an amazing job of taking care of everyone. Food was good too. Cabin was clean and everything worked well. Has a little of a fish bowl feeling with curtains open as someone can easily look in on either side. But it was quiet and beds comfortable. The little store at the lodge seemed to be well supplied with everything you would need for any outdoor adventure. We noticed that there was no internet service there when we arrived which we thought that they probably chose to not have it there for guests so everyone had a break. When we got off the river 6 days later the shuttle driver from Galice was very safe and professional. We noticed that there was a WiFi address that said Galice and asked again if we could get that password and they said that was only for the Galice Lodge... not the cabins. We were staying that night but it would have been nice to check in on line. They refused to give us the password. Canceled the band that night because they said it was cold ( but many of us were there eating in the deck again). Next time we will just move on and not spend the night there after the 5 days in the river.

We love Galice Lodge and were thrilled to spend a night in the remodeled Riverhouse!! Our group of six, ages 4 to 74, especially enjoyed the pool table and the large screen TVs in the common spaces so we could watch sports and play pool at the same time. The kitchen was clean, well-equipped and modern...all new appliances. Great lighting, too. Oh, the hot tub was great with room for all of us. ||The Riverhouse could accommodate a much larger group. The nightly rate was reasonable considering all the extras... hot tub, pool table, kitchen and convenience for the night before we launched rafts on the Rogue!!

The resort has had a rough go this year since the restaurant and store burned down last month. The 'office' closed before we arrived and they left the room unlocked for us since we got in late, and taped a map to the side of a trailer for us. I expected it to be rustic but I was not expecting what we found. There were multiple problems with the room, none of which would have been a big deal on their own, but combined was too much. The bathroom pocket door was missing its runner so it didn't close correctly, you had to pick it up and slide/pull it closed. The toilet was clearly not seated correctly and we referred to it as the 'rodeo toilet', you sit down and it shifts forward, stand up it flies backwards. They clearly knew it was 'broken' was they filled the gap with caulking, which did nothing. On the bright side, once we cleared the 8 spiders out of the bathroom the shower worked fine. The bunk bed was frightening and swung wildly back and forth, no way was it safe for kids to be on the top. The coffee maker that sat on the fridge had a cord that didn't reach the outlet so I had to put it on the floor to make coffee. The bed was rock hard and we slept poorly but it appeared clean. The AC 'worked' but was also broken and was super loud. I probably wouldn't complain if this cabin were half the price, but it seemed way too expensive for the poor conditions.

Beautiful setting, by the river. Staff were very nice and helpful. Food was served in a timely manner. I cannot give a thumbs up on the fish(cod). The coating was thick and the fish mushy. Coleslaw and tartar looked like they were stored in fridge, uncovered. Fries and ice cream were very good. I will try it again because it was a fun place. No fish, though.

We stayed in one of the cabins for one night before our Rogue River float trip. The cabin was clean and adequate for our needs. We would describe the place as "rustic". Staff was friendly and helpful. Food at the lodge was basic but good....it is a burgers and fries kind of place. Breakfast in the morning was hardy and plentiful. The breakfast food took a while to arrive at our table because they were very busy. Coffee service could have been faster.

We stayed one night with a large group, and it served its purpose well. The kitchen had everything we need, there were plenty of bathrooms for our huge group, and location is perfect for our rafting trip the next day. We walked down to the water and dipped in.
