Stayed there long term a few years ago and it was great. I didn’t need anything fancy, just a place to sleep and get a hot shower as I was working in the area on a project Vince was the manager and he was a good dude. If you were cool, he was cool. The place had an interesting vibe. Nothing fancy but a good value. Nonetheless, I returned to the area last week I had been trying to call and I couldn’t get anybody to answer the phone and the voicemail was full, so I stopped by and found that it’s now been converted into a homeless shelter. They had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned Vince. Super strange vibe almost like they didn’t want me to stay there so I didn’t. I think it’s no longer a good place to stay unless you’re homeless I guess. Super bummed.
At first thought this was an abandoned building. Surprised when someone opened the door Although clean and vermin free felt like 3rd world country. No heat in the rooms but they gave us a blanket. Very old and worn. The Terra Cotta tile floor is broken and it trips us. Small double bed, decent with decent pillows. No phone in room so no directory to order food delivery. No food on site except small vending machine with chips, candy and soda. Surprise though...a flat screen TV with ROKU only. Restroom looks like a new toilet, new cabinet sink (tiny) and new matching medicine cabinet. Four packs of hair conditioner, no soap. Skimpy bath towels. Mismatched curtains. Small, old, painted chest of drawers for clothes. People screaming and arguing during the night Would NOT recommend.
If you miss prison or want to know what it is like, a stay at this place is for you! Impeccable psych-ward vibes. Sinks right next to beds. Grocery bags to line your garbage can. Electrical wires running in conduit outside the wall. Three types of badly installed tiles, three types of paint from a painter I assume must of been drunk(not counting the blood you occasionally find on the walls), and of course tiny roaches to be your friend. Get buzzed into the place if you're lucky and be greeted by either a drunk slumlord or someone who wishes they were. Just stay somewhere else. It is NOT worth the price.
The worst hotel I've ever been to and I'll never go back to! The rooms have a terrible smell of mustiness and old age from the furniture. Cockroaches in the room. The floor is very dirty the sole of the slippers turned black in one evening. Outside, the smell of factories. On the balcony, dust on the tables and chairs. We couldn't sleep at night because it was so noisy because of the trains. We didn't get our compensation back. You can find excellent conditions in other hotels for the same money.A terrible place!!!
Although the location of this establishment leaves much to be desired this place is amazing, the staff is super friendly, the rooms are clean and all rooms have private bathroom and a kitchen or kitchenette. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable with plentiful pillows, rooms have ceiling fan and AC! I loved my stay here!
The staff Queen, Sophia and Vince are incredible. I wish I could live there. Room equipped with full kitchen. Historical building with a beautiful vintage feel. quiet and accommodating. Thank you. Highly recommended
Quickest way to reference my stay would be to say, "check out other reviews of this place...those rating less than three stars are pretty accurate." That's not to say the staff weren't nice...because they were.||||Street parking only and the area is questionable looking...like bars on windows. Luckily I didn't run into any problems in that area. There was an old and small stove in my single room...but it didn't work. Need I say more. I went for cheap and paid the price. Lesson learned.
I was a resident my whole life in Wilmington Ca and I never seen this place! We went to visit my family and needed a place to stay for a few days and I found this gem. We loved it. The rooms are so cute and even have a stove and a microwave with a cute little shower! I felt even more safe having a key to the front door. The woman at the front with the pretty eyes is WONDERFUL and SO NICE! She knows all the history of Wilmas and I love it! I recommend this place. Whenever my partner and I come to visit,We will always be staying at Monterey Inn ♥️
Highly recommend.. Excellent cappuccino. Also, they have a wide variety of other coffees. Very comfortable seats and nice interior to sit and meet with friends. Very friendly staff who is happy to explain the wide variety of coffees and other beverag
There is this amazing worker here. Vanessa is her name. She is beyond amazing. She has helped myself and my children many times. My little ones played there making slime to events in their gym. Always a great welcoming crew.
Tend to go early mornings, my daughter enjoys the newly built playground, she to play around with out a worry also my dog is able to run freely with out people being around. (I got a rottweiler)
I went here to get some tea, and I honestly thought I wasn't going to get much when I was at the store looking through their menu. For god's sake they put chocolate under green tea and a green tea blend under oolong. Not to say much of their menu are
