Fuji Steakhouse - Japanese restaurant in Janesville - 2235 Milton Ave, USA

The service was fantastic! The host was able to get us seated at the hibachi area right away even though they were very busy. They were a bit short staffed, so it took a while to get our chef. But the waitress did great with keeping our drinks full and getting our other food out promptly.

Initially wanted to give the food a 5 star rating but then found hair in over half the dishes we ordered… which only added to the frustration of the wait time, which we were told would be five minutes (no big deal) but then were somehow forgotten about even though we were standing 3 feet from the host booth. So after watching multiple groups show up after us (without a reservation) and get seated and nearly 40 minutes go by, to be given multiple dishes with hair filled food… seemed like a nice place initially and the reviews convinced us to try it out, hopefully your experience experience is better than ours, because we won’t be going back.

We took our daughter for her 18th birthday. It was supposed to be a 30-minute wait, but someone didn't show, so they let us take their spot 😍. The food was good, the chef was funny, and the waiter sang happy birthday and brought her free ice cream. Overall, it was a great experience.

Staff were all friendly and nice. I have to say the roll was impressively and surprisingly good. For Hibachi, it was American Japanese Hibachi. The meat and shrimps were tender and balanced. There was no soul in the fried rice, just rice fry with soy sauce.

Waited a long time to eat, always takes awhile to start cooking, but this time was ridiculous. Finally another group of three came in. They were celebrating a birthday, we were celebrating our anniversary. Food was ok. Cook was friendly. Left feeling last time was better tasting food.

It was fun, and the staff did an incredible job making my dish to accommodate allergies. I was not a fan of shared tables when the couple was clearly on a date, and our family was celebrating a pre-teen birthday. The seating was our family and then one couple trying to enjoy a date.

ONE OF THE BEST IN JANESVILLE! Went yesterday. My wife got Shrimp Ramen and I got Beef Teriyaki entre. Both were really good. We also got a Sampler appetizer, also excellent.

We've been coming here for quite literally since the day they opened, over the past two years the quality has gone down quite a bit. If you don't sit at the grills you can expect smaller portions and for it to taste nothing like it does when ordered at the grill, but pay exactly the same price. I wanted hibachi and sushi, but had bad experiences with ordering to go so we just went in to eat in the restaurant area rather than the grills since we didn't have quite enough time to sit through the whole show(which is always fun by the way). We ordered the steak hibachi and added extra steak, the steak was so bland and we definitely didn't get extra. We ordered 3 rolls and again noticed how much smaller the portions were this time. Service is great as always but I would highly recommend just eating at the grills and skip the restaurant side.
