They have a poached salmon with mustard sauce but made it broiled for me instead of poached. It was cooked just right and was fine. The cucumber salad is fine, nothing special. Chicken noodle soup was reported to be good and not too salty; meat loaf was reported to be good as well. Not my thing but definitely his. BTW, they serve breakfast all day. Came for lunch another day. Greek salad is ok and my feta cheese was fresh. Spinach pie is large and phyllo party is ok but I didn't prefer the rest of it. Desserts look delicious as diner desserts always do. Do these actually taste good as diner desserts usually don't? You'll have to tell me because we didn't indulge! Sorry.
Upon arrival at Front Street Diner, the exterior immediately signaled a need for attention. The building was distinctly unkept, with a clear necessity for a power wash and a fresh coat of paint. This impression was further marred by the rusted, misshapen bottom of the outer door, hindering its ability to close properly. Stepping inside, the atmosphere shifted to a brighter, more spacious setting. However, this initial positive impression was somewhat diminished by the overall cleanliness. The interior, like the exterior, would benefit greatly from thorough cleaning, especially noticeable in the dust and grease-laden HVAC system vents. Service-wise, our server was notably personable, adding a human touch to the experience. Her age, mentioned to be in the late 70s, did contribute to a slower service pace. She shared insights into her personal life, revealing that she was not working out of financial necessity but rather personal choice, supported by her husband's robust railroad pension. The food experience was a mixed bag. The eggs were commendably well-cooked, yet the accompaniments left much to be desired. The home fries were especially greasy and lacked the desirable crispness. The toast, overly generous in unmelted butter, detracted from what could have been a simple pleasure. Additionally, the sausage links, prepared in a butterflied fashion, suffered from dryness due to the cooking method. In conclusion, while Front Street Diner shows potential with its spacious interior and personable service, the overall experience is marred by neglect in maintenance and inconsistencies in food quality. A focus on cleanliness and culinary refinement could elevate this establishment to a more commendable status.
The service was incredible and our waitress really went above and beyond to provide a stellar experience! My soup just tasted very Bland it was supposed to be broccoli and cheese but there was a limited amount of broccoli and I didn't taste any cheese. My niece ate here before and said her alfredo also tasted off. I like the atmosphere and I like the people but I just couldn't get past the mediocre food
Food was good and the portions were good size. Service was very fast and efficient. Can't say much about the atmosphere, it's a large diner, so cannot call it quaint. It is a clean place, which is most important.
So, how to rate this? The servers and the food are great! So we went back a second time, 9:30 am on a weekday. It was totally packed, and I only saw one server on the floor. I said, "What's going on?" Hostess: "I don't know, I just got here and it was like this." She encouraged us to wait for a table. I said, "Well, I think that is going to take a while to get our food." Hostess: "Oh, our grillers are really fast" Me: "Well, that's great, but I don't see a single table of people here that has food on it, and we're behind all of them." Hostess: "Well, they all came in in the last 5 minutes" So now I figure out that if they all just came in, we would also have to wait for all of them to order before we could have our turn. Me: "Thanks" Obviously, the restaurant was not prepared for so many diners (not their fault, of course), but she should have been honest with me and said, "Yeah, it could take a while."
We went for breakfast and really enjoyed their SOS (dry beef gravy) on toast and a steak and eggs breakfast. The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive to our drink refills and very nice. The atmosphere is typical of a diner, but very clean.
This was our 4th time here so I felt I needed to update my 1st review 10 months ago when we had breakfast. At that time,we found the diner was clean and dividers between each booth. We were seated promptly, and our server came directly to our table for our drink order. I had a mushroom omelet with cheddar cheese (an additional charge) home fries and raisin toast. This is the only diner we've been to that serves raisin toast. My partner had eggs, bacon, and toast. Everything was quickly served and ordered. Good coffee. Daily specials. Breakfast served all day. This time, my Turkey was dry and the gravy was bland and had no taste of turkey. My partner had one of their specials...Hamburger macaroni, which he said was very good. Portion was good. Our service was excellent and order served promptly.
WE GO THERE FOR THE RAILROADER'S BREAKFAST. I TAKE MY DAD WHO WORKED ON THE RR MOST OF HIS LIFE! MOSTLY RETIRED GUYS GO. GOOD TIME! FOOD IS ON PAR, ESPECIALLY CREAMED CHIPPED BEEF(SOS). WAITRESSES ARE TOP NOTCH!

Best food I've had in a while. Perfect amount of salt and the fries were so crispy. Very kind people working. May take a bit for your food to be ready, but that's because they're making it fresh. Good serving size for the price. Highly recommend.
