Friend's Tavern - Gay bar in Queens - 78-11 Roosevelt Ave, USA

Long time customer of this establishment. Been going there for 12 years but last night was the first time I ever felt uncomfortable and ended up leaving within minutes of arriving. First, at the door the security guard was giving me a hard time letting me in because I had a small travel size bottle of Listerine on me that was half used. He told me that he doesn't know what I put in the bottle and that I could had potentially poured some of the Listerine ("mixed with something else") into someone's drink. But another security said it was fine and that I could come in with the bottle. Fine, I came in. Then I went to use the restroom and the same security that was giving me a hard time letting me in, opened the door of the restroom twice when I was using the urinal. I felt like I was being spied on while I was doing a necessity. After being a long time loyal customer since December 2011, I'm probably going to take a break from going there. Not saying I won't go back again but I probably won't be going back for awhile. I get they're trying to enforce rules and make sure everyone is safe inside but I think this security guard was crossing the line last night

We had a bad experience after coming for many times to this club. We walked in and decided to dance one song together to celebrate our Friends 21st birthday. A waiter asked us if we wanted a drink, we said not now for a moments because we wanted to dance. Our friend was already getting ready to order a drink at the bar for all of us. Within 3 minutes management came to kick us out. This is unacceptable. I understand they want to sell, however, let us settle in and enjoy dancing and get into the atmosphere. It cannot be only about $$ and this is why customer service has to suffer.

Guy be careful with you credit card, they charge extra drink in you account, is not the first time, they take advantage when you are a little tipsy , the servers put in my account beers , when my friend he already pay, and then end of the night all the drink for you pay, and the give to you the wet hoka for you have to pay again a new one.

Becareful if you pay with card.I was sitting at bar counter. I ask the bartender for the receipt.He didn't give me back for the receipt.I ask extra strong for the liquor. He charge me way too much.Be aware they try to scam you if you pay with card.Poor service.The bartender give me face not friendly 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Very good place I loved it and it is one of the places you go once and you want to visit again they are a 10 out of 10 I have visited many places but here I will return many more times 🫰

Friend’s Tavern is my go to spot in Queens! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. John always treats us phenomenal and is very good at what he does. The music is very diverse in the sense they play many different genres! Highly recommend. There’s hookah and lots of other entertainment that keeps me coming back for more! We celebrate many birthdays here and they always have decorations and cake available if requested. 10/10!!!

Friend's Tavern is one of my favorite bars not only in Queens but all of NYC! They really have the best events and staff! My favorite days are Karaoke Tuesdays with Juan Pablo. Always a good time! From Juan Pablo and Lexier bartending on Friday to Lexier and Esteban bartending on a Sunday with great Djs all the way through the weekend. It's a party! #IYKYK ❤

Excellent place with fantastic music! A highly diverse group of people. My gay friends came to visit from FL, and they all loved it. Juan Pablo, the bartender, was extremely friendly and attentive!! I will definitely come back; I highly recommend it.
