My husband and I had the pleasure of having Maria as our instructor for our wedding first dance. We bought the package with the most amount of sessions with intentions to bring my father and his mother in as well. We also didn’t want to rush our dance. Maria put together an amazing choreography with gorgeous turns and a stunning lift. We felt so comfortable with her and honestly felt like we were family at the end of our lessons. I recommend Maria without reservation. She truly is a talented instructor and a kind soul that cares about your results and wanting to make your wedding special. Everyone at the wedding was screaming in surprise and joy at our choreography and said we even looked professional! Thank you Maria and the Fred Astaire team for giving us beautiful memories.

I decided I would try something new, out of the box and challenge myself so I decided I would learn how to dance!! With much fear and trepidation, I visited Fred Astaire Delray Beach for an introductory lesson. They instantly made me feel welcomed and part of the family. In just a few short months, I’ve learned a number of dances, have attended numerous events, created new relationships and have been having tons of fun. The studio owners are very hard working, diligent, talented instructors and have helped me generate tremendous value to my life. I absolutely love Fred Astaire Delray dance studio and so will you!!!

I started my dance journey with just wanting to learn Argentine tango. It's been the best decision I've made for myself since. This journey has not only taught me how to dance but to have more confidence and be more outgoing and not so shy around others. Clifton and Mar and Maria before them have opened my eyes to a whole new adventure. They have transformed a 64 year old who feared getting up to dance at clubs and weddings into a confident man who enjoys asking a lady to dance at every opportunity. Over the past year I’ve had the wonderful experience of learning to dance with Clifton and Mar at their beautiful studio in Delray Beach. I came in knowing almost nothing - couldn’t even find the beat ( much less keep it), had no concept of leading or floor navigation and really felt lost. Mar was so patient and so much fun to dance with. I even made my competition debut at the MIami championship in December. I’ve gained such an appreciation and love for dancing as well as an immense respect for professional dancers. What a gift I’ve received. Thank you Clifton and Mar for creating your “happy space”. Years ago, I came across a group of people dancing the tango on a warm summer evening in Central Park, NY. There were young couples and older couples; there were couples in their 80s still strutting their stuff with grace, passion, and rhythm. It was so “life-affirming.” I said to myself right then, “In twenty years, I want that to be me.” I’ve just finished my first year at Fred Astaire Delray, and I can’t say enough about the studio! You will not find two more delightful, supportive, and fabulous instructors than Mar and Cliff, the studio owners. Not only are they both tremendous dancers, but they’re patient, enthusiastic, encouraging, and caring. If you’ve ever thought of dancing but were nervous about it, “just do it” (to quote our friends at Nike!). You won’t regret it! They’ve built a wonderful community of equally kind and supportive students that are learning the healthful, social, and artistic joys and benefits of dancing. Join us!

Amazing experience working with Clifton! My husband and I took dance lessons for our first dance and from beginning to end it was an amazing experience. We came in with no experience and felt uncomfortable but by the time we were done we were really comfortable with our dance. If you’re thinking about doing lessons, do it! You will not regret it. Great teachers and a great environment!
