Beautiful trails. Muddy spots after a rain, especially in the marsh area, but that is to be expected of course! Great for hiking and mushroom hunting. Nature Center is a great place for families. Staff were helpful and kind.

Very enjoyable are with hiking trails and a nice waterfront beach area. While the trails are not well marked, they are well maintained. Google maps along with the trail map is essential to keep on track. The dunes trail has many old growth trees including Oaks and Black Walnut. It's like being on a tall ship with sails at full mast. The waterfront looks like an enjoyable place to spend an afternoon. Lots of sand and well marked swimming areas. The nature center requires a reservation to tour. Several exhibits to review. Out back, there is a large deck overlooking a quiet pond. A nice area to relax at.

A great place to hike and play. Beautiful in every season! Trails are clearly marked and there are a number of labeled trees, plants, nature related things to learn about. The nature center is currently closed due to COVID, but the restrooms are open for use.

I hadn't been to Fox Island since I was a very young kid. I remember the name but no solid memories. After our visit today we decided to start making this a regular thing. We have a new puppy which was great because Fox Island is dog friendly. She swimmed for her time. A memory that we'll never forget. We had some friends tag along. They enjoyed the day finding frogs while we hiked the beautiful trails. Highly recommend as it's in Fort Waynes back yard.

So beautiful there. My favorite by far except after it rains then those mosquitoes are FIERCE. If it's rained anytime in the past 2 days just don't go lol. It's not worth it. But if you want to see wildlife that is the place. There are rabbits, snakes, frogs, nutriarats, eagles, and some of the biggest turtles you will ever see. Their heads are as big as your head. Guarantee.That place is beautiful and so soothing to walk through. Just a timeless forest everybody can enjoy. If you enjoy taking useless pictures of moss like I do, then you're going to love this. 10/10

Fox island county park is nice little surprise when it comes to natural flora and fauna. Naturally preserved park has very little influence of human habitat. It had dunes, beach, thick forest, swampland and other natural attractions. Nice place to connect with nature.

Very pretty hike. The trails app I used for this hike said the trail was rated as moderate but, I found it easy. Perfect for a stroll. My pup and I had an excellent morning walk.

I just recovered from having Coronavirus, and after my long period of quarantine I was dying to be outdoors. The low entry cost of $2 allowed me to go hiking a few days in a row and enjoy the trees and fresh air. Worth it even on cold days. If you go to the nature center the staff are always friendly. Several trails to choose from, and they’re quite easy to trek.
